Brows?
I hate my eyebrows, even little indian can't make me love them after a good thread session, so i'm asking the ladies of fnk, what do you do with yours?
- personal plucker -waxing -threading i was thinking about waxing mine to get some shape or SOMETHING but i couldn't take a risk on an unknown kid. Anyone know of a good place IN VANCOUVER ie: no delta/po co/ND/richmond etc ??? If any of my friend/person i know IRL reads this and claim themselves in the plucking hall of fame, i'll pay you to do mine....yes, i'll pay you to hurt me, even tho i know most of you wouldn't excpet the cash, i'll make you. I'm just starting to feel like Bert, and i would pluck them myself but i only make matters worse. HEEEEEELP |

I pluck, but once in a while ill get them waxed professionally to get the right shape. I must say that ive had really good ppl and really bad ppl. Trial and error much like trying to find the right hair stylist. I know you want Vancouver, but the best ive been was a random place in Capp Mall. She did a great job and showed me how to pencil it properly etc for $16.
I dont know if you know the rule of thumb to the eye brown shape with the pencil line up? 1) Hold a pencil and line it from your nose to your iner eye. Where the pencil lines with your brow is where your brown should start. 2) Line the pencil from your nose and over your eye pupil. Where your pencil lines with your brow should be the highest peek of your arch. 3) Line your pencil from your nose with the out side or your eye. Where your pencil lines your brow is the end. If you dont have hair there... then you should draw a light pencil line to it. Last edited by Ree Fresh; Feb 01, 07 at 10:25 PM. |

I do my own too, i dont think waxing is the best i see ladies that get them done and they get little irratation bumps or i've heard of instances where they miss and rip off half your eyebrow which would sucks major dogs for quarters i've never gone to anywhere to get them done besides a friend that was in beauty school did them once a few years back and havent changed them since i just go around what she did :)

For waxing I go to Pink Lime Salon where I get my hair cut... it's in downtown on Mainland & Helmecken. I've never been disappointed there. For threading I used to go to a place on Victoria drive and 49th which is basically SE Vancouver.... it's called Kholi's (I think that's how you spell it) the girls there are so nice and do a fantastic job. :) I might start going back there it's just quite the trek for me now and I can't always make it when I need to.

K, for these matters Tara, you should just message me directly. EYEBROWS ARE SERIOUS BUSINESS!
I only only only only, ever get threading done. Waxing not only can make your skin sag pre-maturely, it can also break capillaries and when those break, they are there for the rest of your life. The first place I go, is Merle Norman in Guildford. My current lady is on MAT leave. I hate driving to Surrey, and I hate paying $10 even more, but she is so worth it. She is back in July. The next place, is a place on 49th, with a lady I have come to trust. If she isn't there when I go in, I won't get them done. The next time I go, I can take you with me. I am going next week. Otherwise I can tweeze them for you, if you prefer. |

^ wow, is there a pretty high rate of women having capillaries break in that region when getting waxed? I haven't had it happen so far, but I haven't been getting mine waxed for very long either. I'm curious because I have been seriously considering switching back to threading now. I didn't know waxing was so dangerous :(

The place on 49th that Avana's talking about is pretty good, but too far for me to go to regularly. Not sure where you live, but I found an awesome lady who does threading at Maximus Hair on Davie and Bute. Her name is Massey.
She threaded my entire face two week ago. Gave me wine half way through to dull the pain. |
