I really wanna go, but don't want a a loan hanging over my head for years and years to come. Also I need to figure out exactly what I want to do, cuz there's a few things that interest me (such as interior design, addictions counselling, event planning or hospitality management).

I am probably not the largest debtor on fnk, but I do hold a considerable amount of debt. Unfortunately, most of it is consumer debt, with a chunk also remaining on my car loan. However, I am currently looking to sell my car, which will basically make me break even, perhaps with some money left over to throw into RRSPs. Then I will be saving as much a possible for my new life in Sept, as a poor student. For which I will probably create more debt with student loans. Heh. It's hard to get ahead.

u are lucky for now, because you dont have any real expenses or have families that just crap money. But for the most of us, we will never be debt free. think about it, if its not student loans, then its car loans, if its not credit cards that pay for our getaways, shopping sprees and emergency "get out of jail" funds, then its mortgages, and divorce lawyers, and ofcoarse, how can i forget, even after we die, we pass on our funeral debt to our kin, with whatever else crap we managed to charge :)
ahhh the cycle never ceases to amaze me
i beg to differ. i'm debt free because i have been smart with the money i have worked hard to earn.
my parents have never been the type to give me money. i have worked my ass off, not gone out and got into the mentality to just save save save.
i live on my own. i have car payments and insurance payments. i'm putting myself through school.

If it's not paid off in full, you still owe....

you will always owe something...i think that is her point...

But way to go on being the bank of allison, next time you say, "i can't go out i have no money", i'll know your either telling a lie or on the saving track.

hmmmm... 8 grand~ or maybe less left on my vehicle.

7 owed to the government

racked up 10~ on my visa over july/august/september partying. That should be paid off by the end of april though..or damn close anyways. the 7 to the government should be done some time in june, and the 8 left on the van is just a payment so w.e.

definately possible. I've saved up mad money when I've gone on work mode... then gone on party mode and blown it all. Key to happyness: Spend less than you make.

You people must live on a different planet than me.

When I incurred a couple of thousand bucks worth of debt on my VISA due to travel, I freaked out over it. Before that, I'd never owed more than $800.

About $2500. But it's good debt.

Nah it's all good. Put a male in a car shop or some electronics shop that he likes and he will have those same problems.
