Who's running Vista?
I snagged a copy off of OiNK but I'm really wary of actually installing this OS mostly because I'm sure that there'll be a shit load of problems with drivers and all that crap.
Is anyone smoothly running Vista (well as smooth as any Windows app ever runs, right?) on their PC? Recommendations? (Not including the ones that say 'BUY A MAC' hahaha.... I can't buy a new comp!) |

I ran the final version for a bit, I'd hold out for a while longer still. There's still lots of shit that doesn't work, and the only real anti-virus out there is from Microsoft for like $50/year.
If you have an Nvidia video card, you should definitely wait a few more weeks as well. Also, if you buy music off iTunes, wait a few weeks for compatible shit as well. |

I installed the Ulitmate Edition. It ran perfectly smoothly for me but my buddy has hellicious sound card volume problems. Overall I found it way too intrusive and visually stimulating for an OS. So I just reinstalled XP. Maybe I'll go to vista later

was the fact that you're on vista really worth a "lololol" ? a "hehe" at most.

unless you have proper knowledge about blocking ports and internet connections, i wouldn't bother installing an OS downloaded from some torrent site. ^^ has happened many times to people on this board and other torrent boards 3 months after they have downloaded something off the internet Last edited by narc; Feb 09, 07 at 09:46 AM. |

You talking the Windows 2000-style classic view?
If you mean the non-Aero 3D view, for sure you can turn that off. When you do, it's XP-style. When I ran it, I never checked for the 2000-style view, since I prefer the XP-style better. |
