Tara I feel your pain. I learned fast that you shouldn't have big expectations for Valentines and make a big deal about it. I personally think of it more as a fun cute day were you can give treats and cards to friends etc. I mean I guess if you were truly in love or it was like your first Valentine with someone special you could go big, but otherwise it gets a bit repetitive. I mean seriously we just had Christmas a month and a half ago!!! Maybe some flowers, dinner, candy or something simple like a hand written poem is enough to show you care.
PS: I dont like heart shaped things much either... although at least the new tiffany neckless is more stylish than the previous one. |

im looking forward to having a reason to gorge out on extra chocolate on wednesday and also a reason to lie in bed and watch movies and eat popcorn and turning off my cell phone and having at least 5 hours of un-interupted relaxation. and im stoked that aaron will be there too.
i think its ok to have days set aside to remember\appreciate things and people cause at least for me, life is rediculously busy and sometimes i dont stop and appreciate things and people. the best gift i think i gave was i got one of those big heart shape boxes and ate all the chocolate and then filled it up with sour kids (his favorite) and gave it to him. i think the box even had some velvet on it. this year i asked for quiet time and movies and popcorn. and i got it\am getting it!! hurray! |

Nattykins: Basket of his favorite stuff/personal things
like my ex loved pink mentos so i got him super packs, with all his favorite chocolate bars, all his favorite candy (he ate to fill the void), some hair gel he really needed/wanted and one nice nike sports jacket as the main gift ...but the little knick kacks is what makes it. Tell me what you decide finally... Use your creativitiy, i know you have lots <3 |

? answer: a small gesture would be cute, something simple nothing too $$$ but something cute, you could still manage to freak her out by going over the top esp. if she's not a sappy, romantic type. |

3 years ago, I had just started dating a guy the week before v-day, and he gave me a potted plant. That was cool. Inexpensive but thoughtful and not too cliched...something that was like "Hey, I thought of you" but not all "omg you're my girlfriend I love you!!!!" or "I'm trying to buy your love with expensive shit"

Even though i wasn't going to get anything out of spite for the day of marketable emotion ....
I bought him moustaches... he can choose between the "director"....or...the "movie star"..or...."the musician"......THERES MORE. I just dont feel like finding them ... It's the only thing i could think of. Last edited by Rayeine; Feb 13, 07 at 11:57 PM. |

I ended up gettin him some Purdy's chocolates, massage oil (complete with massages), some clothes, two kama sutra books, AND I made him a jar of reasons why I love him. It took me almost 8 hours to make the notes in the jar - there are over 200 of them! I could have done lots more but the jar was full :)
He got me a Ruehl purse, a holliser t-shirt, a teddy bear wearing a tshirt that says "Someone from the University of Miami loves me" annnnd A TRIP TO DISNEYWORLD!! We are going on Saturday and I am SO SO SO excited :) :) |
