well judging by the amount of good karma i got from this thread, one would assume that maybe a lot of those people share the same views as me on this topic

i think it's neat that my sister gets to go a school with so much history behind it. it really changed (by improving) the lives of a lot of americans. both white (yes, they go there too) and black people.

and of course her sorority accepts white girls. why wouldn't it? the only reason it was started in the first place (way back when) was because black people weren't allowed to join the greek system. why would they condone the same discriminatory practice?

I guess what people don't see is it is perfectly okay to have pride in what you are or where you came from, and having that pride doesn't mean that you think you're better than anyone else. A lot of people have always had the basic rights to do things like vote, attend high school or university, drink from a water fountain, sit on the bus, get a job etc. etc. and it's hard to believe that some people are proud that they have come to that point because they can't relate on any kind of level. It's not just black people that feel this pride and have had to overcome these things.
I mean, just because you may not feel any reason to be proud of what you are and where you came from, doesn't mean you have to shit on anyone else who does. that's just my perspective on the matter, not really directed at any single response in particular. |

i think now this has gone from rightfully pointing out pointless declaration of race in a topic completely un-related.
To having people being actively racist for no real reason. Little donkey is right. And Diva has the right to be proud of her sister. But shit just diva.. stop defending yourself.. you made a mistake.. and everyone else.. stop raging on her for it.. and we can all happily go off and have a happy multi cultural gang bang. |
