heaven.
today i was reminiscing about the time i camped out on a beach somewhere near sechelt, the weather was perfect the whole week, sleeping under the stars on the beach with no tent was soo awesome.

of course that was a long time ago, i'm really done with camping.

First, I love camping.. hike-in backpack treks.. or taking the jeep down to some beach on Harrison Lake for a bonfire & party.. Camping rules.

The view is amazing, I love the Golden Ears hike, but 4 days? You can summit it in one day, 10 hours mind you, but 4 days is a little excessive.

Anyone planning to do a trip to the top of Golden Ears should consider this plan: Hike to Alder Flats with your overnight pack(2hrs), set up camp, take a light day pack to the peak (~4-6hrs) and then back to the flats for dinner & rest, then hike back out the next morning. The hike after the flats to the peak is steep(elevation gain is crazy considering the short distance), rooty and MUCH more pleasant without your overnight pack on your back.

I've always wanted to do the West Coast Trail, I heard it's really challenging but hella fun. Anyone completed it before?

Yes, I've done it. It's challenging in terms of distance (75km), but makes up for it with the most beautiful, untouched seascapes on the west coast. Pack as light as you can, it's a long walk to be carrying a ridiculously heavy pack. There are heaps of ladders and stairs too! If you take your time, it's not all that bad, and most definately worth it.

Don't forget you have to make a reservation (I know, crazy) no more than 90 days before you want to start.

One I'd like to try is the new "North Coast Trail" from the tip of vancouver island, around Cape Scott, and down to an old logging town on the Northwest coast called "Holburg" --- although shorter I think, it looks even more rugged and isolated than the West Coast Trail.

i have actually set up my tent in my livingroom and camped in it a few time even last year...its awsome sitting in the tent and watching movies!!! hehehehe. mind you i have funny friends and we all have a very odd sence of humor.

jovi and me camped in mine in my livingroom 2 years ago. we set up the tent to get it ready for a summer outdoor party and we just left it up. the things u got to do when u need to set up ur tent to make sure its all clean and no holes, when u live in a apt:p
