"Do you think you're growing out of the rave scene?"
absolutely positively NOT. it's the opposite. i'm just starting! (& @ age 20/21 in a month to boot.) i "dipped my feet into the water" so to speak in late '06 (ATB & AVB) & have been going INCREDIBLY full-force in '07. i've decided that this is the yr where i'm going to go to as many events as possible. so, you'll probably see a lot of me this year. ugh. i've been live-trance deprived for SO long. & trance sounds 1,000,000% better at venues than at home, obviously. it amazes me. <3 but back to the subject @ hand: i recon in my situation, it's rather a question of am i "outgrowing" the music. & my response to this question is, once again, absolutely positively NOT. i've been listening to trance for SO long now (& by myself, even to this day, mind you, since my girlies think my "crazy booop booop disco music" is a bunch of bullshit.) however, my tastes have shifted between the sub-genres pretty noticeably. nevertheless, i recon that i still won't ever grow tired of it, even if i have no more sub-genres to shift towards. hah. i wanna be 1 of those 40+ yr old adults at events still dancing their heart out to the ch00ns...minus the drugs obviously. which reminds me, i've seen those peeps are at clubs AND raves; the venue seems to be insignificant to them, just as long as the tracks are bangin', they'll be there. this is absolutely how i feel as well. when it comes down to it, the venue/atmosphere has no significant to me. i just care VERY strongly about the ch00ns. but i don't wanna come across as stuck up. whatever reason you're going to clubs/raves, just as long as you're having a good time & don't mess up my good time, it's absolutely fine w/ me. = ) Last edited by trancedreams; Mar 07, 07 at 04:18 PM. If all it is is an all-night party with drugs and electronic music at varied venues, I've been to at least a dozen in the last year alone. There's a lot more of them than 10 in a year out here. Last edited by ebbomega; Mar 07, 07 at 04:37 PM. |

I used to enjoy the big ones, but the rave scene that I started in isn't the one that is going on now.
I went to "Pink" and I remember when at 9pm there was a line down the street to get into Riverside. I arrived with Chrissy, Tyson, Amanda and James at 11:30pm and there were 5 people in line and the place was very empty. I wish I knew about more smaller intimate parties around town, even afterhours type events. It's a mature party crowd. I do enjoy drinking at clubs and shows that my friends put on (cause I can get the booze inside) |

hahaha
Promoters need to take some chances yo... There's a lotta music that is good but never gets any exposure - who's up for a revolution? It would be cool to create a non-profit organization, by donations, that would have all kinds of nights with all kinds of genres. :D |

First real rave I went to was Unity in 04.
It was busted about 30 minutes after I got there :( I find that certain types of can usually only be found at raves ie: breaks, speed garage ect. Ravish clubs like the Lotus are good, but they're all about non stop house. |

If you're thinking there's some extra experience behind a party other than just a party, then you're going to be disappointed. If you're finding yourself unsatisfied with the party make it better. That's the whole point. Why the fuck not? It's a party! |

If you've spent time loving electronic music and the scene that comes with it. And if you find yourself posting on a rave website even when you don't go to raves or club nights anymore you can always go back and re-visit the a party scene. No matter how much time I take away from listening to loud bass in the dark, I can always go back as long as the music is good.
Sorta like 30 year olds and disco nights. |
