Travelling is what I seem to have focused my life on since highschool. It's the one thing I've found thus far that makes me truly happy. I really believe that those experiences are worth infinitely more than the money you spend on them. I went to Europe in the summer of 2005, and to Cambodia in January of this year. Going back to Southeast Asia in January of 2008.

i will go somewhere in april, but haven't planned anything yet. haha.
if anyone has any questions about northern india, i may be able to help. i spent a month there nov-dec 05. that is one place i would not recommend women attempt alone, as fun as 1) having every single person (all male) turn around on a bus to stare at your chest for three very long hours, 2) being followed by packs of young men back to your hostel, 3) having the all-male guesthouse staff chant your room number as you go by, and 4) having male shoppers continuously 'accidentally' brush your bottom in a crowded market all are. india was incredible, and i probably grew to understand more about the world in the month i was there than i ever could in a lifetime in north america, but i swear i never exhaled for a second. there was never an opportunity to! |

Recently ive only done some short trips that seem more like vacations or business trips. But I do plan on doing a whole year long trip again around the world in the next 2-3 years. Im pretty content and happy with what im doing at home right now and rather wait until I need a break from home before I set sail again for a long period of time. Besides small trips, I may get involved with my School's trip to Africa next summer. Which Im really looking forward to as its with my highschool students and we will be helping to build a small community in Kenya. I know I will travel for the rest of my life... I do in a way want to see almost every country/area of the world at least once in my life time. |

I don't think I'll go to another Muslim country/area without a male companion. |
