There are plenty of other energy sources other than fossil fuels, for example, Hydro, Solar, Wind Turbine, Fuel Cells, just to name a few.

The fuel cell is by far the most promising out of any of them.

by the time reserves run out, humans will have moved on to a cleaner, more efficient energy source. If you compare the type of energy we use now, to what was used 50 years ago, there is a big difference.

Yeah, we didn't have nuclear waste 50 years ago...

But seriously, how many people will have to die as we squeeze the last few drops of oil out of our planet? We must understand the notions of economic scarcity and production costs. Right now we use oil because it is much easier to write off a few thousand people, sacrifice a couple of symbolic buildings, and bomb a few thousand backward Muslims, than it is to re-fit every car on the planet with a fuel cell.

Wind Power? This is definitely starting to become more economical as engineeering and turbine technology improve, but the fact is, wind power is still 20-30% more costly than fossil-fuel based power generation, or nuclear power.

What we are witnessing in the aftermath of Sept. 11th (Honestly, in the last 100 years) is the dominance of the American military-industrial complex, and the "chosen ones" running it.
