Bad News...
Realizing that this link refers to american initiatives, we must also be aware that Canada has enacted much of the same legislation, and that our sovereignty is a myth on par with that of Britney Spears' virginity.
http://www.aclunc.org/911/scorecard.html When you see this shit in THIS http://www.canada.com/vancouver/story.asp?id= {D5832AF9-A751-4833-832D-A1C28D96590C} context, you start to realize just how close we are to a true police state. All in the name of freedom... SPK |

Explanation...
In the aftermath of Sept. 11th another radical assault has occurred. That assault has taken place against the rights and freedoms of people all over the world. In America, the passage of The Patriot Act has eliminated basic personal rights such as Attorney-Client privilege (meaning what you say to your own lawyer is no longer private), the right to just cause (people can now be put in jail indefinitely without any charges being laid), and other issues of privacy such as, having the FBI raid bookstores to find the names of people who buy certain books (and further having a gag-order that prevents book store owners from even mentioning that the FBI has contacted them, tied to such legislation). In Canada, Bills C-35 and C-36 were also rammed through with similar disregard for the usual process of debate. There is no War on Terror. What we are witnessing is a war between the Government and the People.
The second link that I posted refers to this week's pot bust on BC Ferries, wherein police sealed off the car decks of a ferry, then patrolled the decks with a drug dog looking for vehicles that might have pot in them. They found a car with 15 pounds of weed in it and arrested the owners. They also arrested a few other people who had weed in their cars in small amounts (roach in the ashtray?). The point here is that the police cannot legally investigate a group of people without probable cause. They cannot assume you are guilty. They have to have a reason to investigate you in the first place. That clearly did not happen in this example. Of course, with the US Drug Enforcement Agency calling the shots on what our police do, it's not much of a surprise that stuff like this is starting to happen. Another example would be the use of US Naval Intelligence Officers in an operation to gather information about the Cannabis Cafe a few years ago. Canada is a myth. We need to accept that now and get ready for the real war. The battlefield is right in front of you, and it stretches all the way back behind your eyes and between your ears. thats messed....my opinion on all of this is our governments trying hard to fix the problems but not the right way....they have the solutions but not for the right questions....to seal off a ferry is a bad solution to the drug problem....if they arent looking for something in particular they shouldnt do that.....if they had a hint that there was large amounts of drugs on the ferry then its explainable...and to arrest people for having roaches is legal but it wont solve anything...the damage has already been done....for the 15 pounds thats explainable....canadas government is trying to solve the wrong problems right now....drugs like pot shouldnt be the big issue at the moment...there are many drugs that are far more damaging to the body (cocaine, heroin, speed) that should be taken care of first...and the war that is evolving is only going to get worse and they should be doing more to keep it from happening...some of the stuff they are doing is appropriate but not for the privacy issue....the people have rights and if its to fix the problem then im all for it...if its just because they can and they think its going to solve something but its really not then i see it as a waste of the tax payers money and the governments time
