84 rx7 will have rotary engine
unlikely that thing will last past 180-220,000km but until then wont give u much trouble the crx is a honda...do u really want a honda? it'll last u longer parts are cheaper ull be able to pimp it out because EVERYTHING is for honda's hondas are pretty reliable for early and mid 90s models... imo they kinda turned shitty after about 96/97 or so...parts seem kinda cheap my dad had a 92 civic and for 7 years he didn't have so much as a lightbulb burn out other then things like wear and tear (sparks, tires, brakes, ect...) i'd take the crx |

i think the crx would be a wiser decision, irt is a honda, so parts and service is easy. Plus if you want to pimp it, like konrad said there is much more aftermarket support for hondas then old mazdas. also rotatries are pigs on gas, the little honda won't be. having said that the performance of both cars is faily similar, they have similar stock hp and wieght, the the mazda is rwd and close to 50/50% wieght disturbution. i know on the second generation sevens its possibleto pull the motor out and swap in a small block chevy. then you would have a car that roars, and if you used aluminum heads on the engine it wouldn't weight much more the the rotarty. the trick to it is positioning the engine so the cars wieght disturbution isn't fucked while still leaving enuff room for the transmission. of course your 7 is a first gen, i don't know if the same thing applies...tho if your just looking for a reliable daily driver that you can rice out and pick up all the 15 year old highschool chicks in go for the CRX. id probably get the crx just on the basis that its a newer car which is cheaper and easier to fix. maintence on the rotary would be somewhat more intensive, heh atleast you didin't get a turbocharged one, you have to take really good care of those. honda sucks.
and the CRX you want is 11 years old... but depending on the how many KMs. by now most likely the CRX will have rust unless it was really taken care of.. jap cars tend to rust out faster. but still 11years old for a car is old. i say fix up your RX7. buy a new rotary engine for it if you want. or you can buy a small block chev (carb) and drop that in.. or even a grand national V6turbo... lots of people do it and there should be kits out there too. stick with your Rx7 and fix it. honda = bad times :Peenutt: :Peenutt: |

no i'm not actually. my 81 van is in way better shape than my parents 87 civic. hmm.. 6 years difference? and putting an american motor isn't sacrilage.... depending on the application lots of people do it. talk to people who drive real nissans.. the datsun 280z people.. the only nissan car worth buying. there are shit loads of them out there with small block chevs in there engine bays. if you say its stupid i'd like to see you having problems getting traction when trying to do a dyno pull in 3rd gear. :Peenutt: |
