BC has a drug problem.
After seeing the article on the trail mix and talking to Sean about it last Saturday (Uh Oh Day). This is my conclusion.
BC has a HUGE drug problem. Any way you look at it youths are getting into drugs at a younger age. A lot of people may not agree with me on this point, but weed is a drug. BC produces some of the largest quantities of marijuna in the world. Besides weed, BC has a growing problem with Crystal Meth and crack cocaine. Some may say Meth is just in the rave scene, I don't think that. I was talking to my friends cuz and she's 17. Dude was asking if I had some meth. Shit. WTF? When I was 17 the idea of smoking Meth never occured to me. As for the trail mix shit, fuck. Media loves to scary people. If it don't scare people it aint interesting. Shit, everyone has known that pure MDMA is on the decline. It must be true now, since some punk ass reporter put it in the newspaper. (*Sarcasm*) I think i'm just rambling now. Blah. ~Tim |

the drug problem here isnt worse than in any other city except maybe in alaska
and maybe teens have always been getting into drugs that early... i mean just because you didnt notice it happening when you were that young doesnt mean that it wasnt actually happening john 2899131 |

Part of this drug problem is the media here. Unfotunately, the are obsessed with drug related stories, and although they mean to be preventative, I feel they just advertise to many ppl that may have never heard of these drugs otherwise. Young ppl are curious... and if they keep hearing these stories about different drugs, whether they are deaths/bad drugs/overdoses whatever, they begin to think about them, and begin to wonder just what its like... and this all leads to experimentation. Also, I feel the media here publishes a higher number of drug/rave related stories than any other stories, print what sells.
Another part of this problem would be the fact that BC contains the poorest part of Canada in which many drug addicts/pushers find haven. Because the addicts are here, the dealers will be too. |

Do you feel guilty when you know and see kids as young as 15 yrs of age were railing meth in the open at Celiner?
if you see it, then do something about it; don't narc the kids, just take it away or something.. it's irresponsibilities like this that is killing your 'scene' Nobody wants to be responsibile and be the narc Last edited by narc; Sep 15, 02 at 01:48 PM. |

There's a drug problem because there's a city problem. Unless you want to engage in "extra-curricular" activities, there's NOTHING to do until you become of legal age. Or at least not get carded.
Boredom leads to drug use. If there were more things around for youths to do, they wouldn't be doing drugs. Hell there really isn't THAT much more you can do when you become legal. I've used more drugs after I was 19, than before I was 19. In high school pot was the only drug I had tried. Basically it's all in the person's lifestyle. If you choose to busy yourself with say work, school, significant other, etc. you'll be less likely to do drugs. Unless one day you decide to try Heroin, and then you lose all the things that you used to do to keep busy and not do drugs, that all you have left is to do drugs, then that's NOT good! DON'T TRY HEROIN! OR CRYSTAL METH! THEY'RE EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVIL! |

there are tons of things to do other than drugs. if people say there isn't anything to do in BC and that they do drugs because of that its probably because they don't want to do anything or think of anything to do because they want to do drugs. :Peenutt: |

Well unless you like snowboarding or skiing...there's not much to do.
Plus everything here is expensive, and unless you had a job in high school, you probably didn't have much money either. I was given money, but I'd rather smoke pot with my friends than spend $30 going out to see a movie! |
