Important Spooky 7 Advice

Werdy, Kraig, i personally think Spooky is going to change the scene by instilling a little bit of faith back in the people. Showing that we're still here to throw quality parties regardless of how people say the scene is dying. Like you said kraig, "We are trying to do our best to keep what is left of the scene alive." You do this by doing what any good promoter does, you ROCK A SHOW.

I know that twisted has 2 great shows lined up. HUGE DJ's, great effort going into each show to make them unique all while struggling against the rumours and the city. The point to my long ass post, I was sick of the fact that you guys directly blamed Azim's greed for the fall of the scene. BS.

I posted it in the lounge and warned right at the beginning that it was also in the promo section. WHY in the lounge? because I was voicing an opinion of amazement that tickets are moving fast regardless of the price and i appreciated the fact that everyone was pumped. It's not like i'm making money off the show pending on how many tickets sell or how fast they sell. i am excited for the show.

big companies bring out big djs. they have been for years.

what is personally being done to make this spooky party a turning point in vancouver's rave scene? im not saying the party wont be any good. im not saying it's going to suck... but what are you doing different from any previous party that's been thrown to make this change the rave scene in vancouver?

otherwise it's just a promotional gimmick.

don't post promo in the lounge. im sure everyone involved with any show is excited about it. don't be a dink and think the show you're involved with somehow is more important than every other one. sure, it's just one post, but it sets a precedent. forums have purposes, use them. as unimportant as it is, your lack of respect shows in your really bad karma score.

Before y'all start jumping all over him for saying this, it isn't such a big thing. I mean this IS spooky seven , which means that every hallowe'en for years now it's been a tradition. That's not a bad thing, so there's no need to get defensive. Every year now, for years, kids dress up and get stoked for this, and that is great. I don't think that people who have been partying for years (and gone to one or more) really expect one to be a phenomenon compared to the others. Every single time, wether it's smaller and costs us at the most 27 + sc or 60 something. Or whether or not we have someone like Sandra Collins or Derrick May headlining or whoever doing it this year, people go to spooky to well...go to spooky, for the most part.

Nonthless, good luck to you all and I hope it's a great time, etc.

There were some good points brought up here. I appreciate this thread.
I think the promo for Spooky has lacked. Or well, no lacked, but I don't think it's been overdone. Haha, due to my non - promo party posts, remember those gyus. Yeah....someone on the boards came along, and well yeah. No more spamming for me.

I can't say I've been to Spooky 1 or 2, but 3rd Annual Spooky was a blast. It was my first party. Back, when well. It was just better then. I missed out on Spooky 4 & 5, and well Spooky 6 licked ass for me greatly (altho - good party, I think ..) and well I'm hyped for this.

I don't actually know where I'm going with this 'reply thread' I'm too tired to make sense.

Just ... my word. All this drama ... sigh.. politics.

I was disapointed in the line up as well... not to bash the selectiosn but.. last year was definately a lot better... I still think Johan Gielen is sweet heh....

twisted maybe makin a big profit... but it's at a comfortable venue (altho the sinks don't work) with a few big name dj's and some of vancouver's fav locals,
and finally, u can't whine too much about the prices...

there's something called INFLATION if u take economics.

If people walk around saying the rave scene is dead, others will believe it. Raves will kill itself through rumour. Spooky is coming to everyone in force. I'm glad that SOMe of you took the time to read a little of my "essay" because now you really know what is bringing the scene and OUR culture down. By Spooky being awesome, i think it'll prove the scene is not dead and hopefully it'll excite everyone to keep partying.

Raving is about meeting new people, listening to good music, and possibly (for some people) experimenting with drugs. There are many people out there who will go to raves and be inspired to try to throw BETTER parties. that's how parties get truly wicked.
