I think it's because of 2 reasons.
#1 : kinda like when we encounter aliens or something new to us. we don't like it. We want to bash, destroy or dissect it until we have nothing left to... sell on the black market. #2 : They listen to the first 40 seconds to determine if they like it or not. you can tell with an rnb song if it's good or not by the first 40 seconds. Otherwise, we can appreciate listening to different types of house/jungle/breaks etc. because we've felt the power of being on the recieving end of 20,000+ watts of pure energy as it literally pulses through your chest. I brought my mom to a rave to show her what it's really about and she didn't like EVERYTHING about it. but she didn't have a problem with me going to them ever since. The stigma will disapate with experience. example: country music was horrible to me until i listened to it more often. It won't gel for everyone, but you won't know till you try. .Lawrence @ forwerd |

i know i'll get bashed for this buuuuut.
i seriously think that PART of the reason why SOME people just love electronic music is because of hearing it while on E. Its an association thing, remember when you were so incredibly happy, so very high having the best time of your entire life while the most fresh and amazing music pounded the entire world around you? when you listen to those tracks or electronic music it brings a bit of that feeling back to you. your brain can associate that incredible happiness with that type of music and you get a bit of that feeling back. most non-ravers havent experienced electronic music with that enhancenment. i think that has a small part in it as well. and yes i fully realize that ppl that have never done E still LOVE electronic music. but i do think that that association is there of incredible happiness with techno rave party music. |
