We kiddies are so funny. we start off raving young. do it for a couple of years. realize that there are kids starting to rave (whom are roughly the same age as yours) and you gargle at that and say there are a buncha young kids in the scene and that they'll eventually grow out of it also.
Ferstarters. HOW ARE YOU ABLE TO TELL SOMEONE'S AGE?! especially when we're all dressed up like little pixies that ran through the rainbow wash cycle in the paint machine? Grow OUT of the scene? no buddy, the scene evolved and surpassed you. Some of you already know this, but don't realize it. So why not face facts. The rave scene is a world away from the real world. we can revel in our own stupidity surrounded by strangers, or better yet. make new friends FROM the strangers. and every so often, we escape from the shitty "real" world that we complain so much about to emmerse ourselves in light, sound, and weekly excitement. Believe it or not, some people actually live from party to party. They enjoy the dancing, the music, possibly even the drugs. because some people NEED it. they could be depressed, lack self esteem, have family/relationship problems... and raves are a 12 hour cure. Why are you all out to diss other people's cure. I'm religious. I believe in God. Sometimes he's my escape. other times dancing/music/partying is. Are you going to diss my world to the same extent that you're going to diss my God? don't rag on something if you don't know what it means to someone else because you may just destroy their world. if someone disappears from the rave scene, you definately won't notice. or even care. but if they enjoy doing what they do. who are YOU to make them stop just because the rave scene surpassed you and you became a *gasp* jaded raver. .Lawrence @ forwerd Last edited by Mr Ektion; Oct 21, 02 at 02:53 AM. |

Argh, back into the hornets' nest I go.
Escapism, which is what you're describing .Forwerd, is all fine and good for a while, but eventually one does have to return to the *gasp* real world. That's just how it goes, unless you want to be living party to party for the rest of your life. |

i fuckin LOOOVE partying. not so much for escapism since i think im better then everyone else and school/work dosn't bother me as much as some people. its just that i think of all the stuff i would be doing if i wasn't partying and i relize that id either be bored to tears or in jail if it wasn't for raves.
i mean whats a better way to spend your weekend then dancing your ass off to some good music while spending time with friends both new and old. ive met some really cool people and made some good friends through raves. im really glad that i decided to involve myself in the rave scene, its changed my life, for the better i think. |

lithe,
the whole world depends on "escapism". We watch soap operas like, young and the restless or even the wwe. Reality tv shows feed our need to experience the real world without... . experiencing the real world. Also, movies help us escape from "the real world" also. Why do you think they call it the idiot box? because when watching tv, you don't really need to participate in the "real world" The news paper lets us view the "real world" from the comfort of our own home or coffee shop. all of the bullshit is filtered out and you got a whole lot of negativity that interests you that you would otherwise derive from everyday life normally. Will people "grow out" of watching movies or videos? music is can be another person's escape. hearing another person going through the same difficulties can often be soothing and nurturing. that's why we incline ourselves towards certain types of music (generally). Vacations are the "get aways" in life. You go to mexico to find a place that has no connections to your everyday life. you know... to escape the real world. i guess you "grow out" of that eventually also. When people get upset or overly sad, they find something to "escape" like work out, run, scream, find a friend to talk about something else, drive, sex, drugs, pets, etc. escaping is a real part of the real world. going back is not the problem i'm having. it's the not being allowed to leave FROM that bothers me. so tell me. what's wrong with escaping? |

I'm not talking about people who enjoy going to the occasional party to escape the mundane existence of work, school, etc, I'm talking about the people whose lives revolve around the party scene. Using your example .Forwerd, does your life revolve around the tv? Vacations to Mexico? Working-out? Screaming? Driving? Sex? Drugs? No, I would assume it doesn't. Lives are multi-faceted, and my original comment of "How sad." which stirred up so much controversy was directed only to those who only seem to enjoy one aspect of it. mmmk?

"Who's lives revolve around the party scene now, there aren't even that many parties a month!" - Azim
I personally think that there are people who saturate themselves in our culture. I think that's great. I really don't think it's your place to comment on some people's lives as being "sad" because they need raving to handle the world. you make it sound like they live, breath and die for the rave scene. I know people who are admirable for really placing their heart in the scene. BabyNat for example supported the scene even in it's lowest point trying to sell tickets and promote. She stood up against the masses to say that the party scene is still a part of her life regardless of what YOU say. fucking, huge ups to you natasha. I agree, there is a lot to life and appreciating all that it has to offer takes a life-time. Well, lithe, try to not be the one telling people how to live their lives by using comments that demean them. It's almost like saying "that movie was so gay" in a public area. you really don't know who you're offending and to what level. I dunno. i could be wrong, but i support the people who come out to dance and live their lives in the music. |

I love Raves if i dont get my fix every month i feel like the world is Ending I sometimes wish i could take DJ AZIM and put him in a Jar that way i can always have parties. I could bring him out when ever i wanted just to have a party in my house.
OH OH or maybe a party in my pants :awh: hehehehe I have no life all I think about is the next Party. Oh how i count the days till spooky. I think of the great music as I sit in my dark little corner watching time tick away....... tick tock tick tock bwhahahaha OH MY! now if people were talking like that then ok i would say they have issues. The fact that people are excited and looking foward to a party & put a couple posts up is no big Deal......... The top was sarcasim just incase no one got that. Oh except for the part about azim in a Jar. heheheheh :kam: |

im afraid... usually when a party is "sold out", it usually means that tickets have been over-sold.... i just hope everyone gets in line early because once the vancouver police decide there are too many people there's "nothing" azim can do

^^^ It's not the Police, it's the Fire Marshal.
We have not oversold the party however your advice is warranted in saying get there early. The quicker we can get everyone in, the better! Remember Wett? We had almost 2500 in the door before 11:00PM! |

i guess its partly my fault for showing up at 2am, but maybe you guys shouldn't have sold so many tickets at the door, or just in general? it wasnt just me who was stuck outside either, it was a whole crowd... and this wasnt the first time it's happened john 2899131 |
