Car Accident
I was doing decorations for House of X with a friend on Friday night. After we were done for the day, we decided to pull an all nighter. We were bored, driving around, and it had rained all night. We were cruising down by Nat Bailey Stadium, and we saw this HUGE puddle. So he floored it and hit the ocean of a puddle at 125 km. We went FLYING and missed another car by an inch. We hit the curb, went over, the car did a 180, smacked into a tree, and took the entire side off the tree. The car went so far that the site where the car ended after the crash, was a good half block up from where the puddle actually was. We got out of the car, but were taken to emergency by an ambulance. We're both okay...we both have whiplash. I had X Rays done and the doc said that I have torn muscle tissue in the neck. I'm not sure about his, but mine goes all the way around my neck, and it HURTS. The car was totalled, which doesn't surprise me at all. All in all, we were EXTREMELY lucky. We both walked out of this accident without anything major. We could have hit that other car, but we were lucky that they were driving slow and stopped right away. We could have swerved half a foot less and smashed into the tree, in which case we would be dead (or complete vegetables!) considering the speed we were going at.
This was somewhat traumatising to me, because I lost my best friend to a car accident several years ago. This just 'confirmed' my paranoia with driving and being out on the roads. Just PLEASE, make sure you wear a seat belt at all times. Even if it's a 2 minute drive. An accident could occur at ANY time, even during a 30 second drive, and you may not be as lucky as I was that morning. You are not only putting yourself, but you are also putting many others in danger if you speed and/or drive recklessly. A car is a potential WEAPON, so treat it seriously, and don't mess around ever. My friend isn't one to drive carelessly, but he did ONE stupid thing...and it just took that one thing to cause such a mess. Erica :AZN:

glad your okie tho!! only whiplash..damn..you were lucky! oi.. you were also lucky that the damned paramedics actually TOOK you to the ER...unlike they've done to other ppl! it's good your okie tho...only the car is seriously damaged but cars can be replaced! *big hugz* it's sad...the other night there was 3 teenagers killed in a car accident down on 100th (in surrey....VERY close to my house) and as far i knew yesterday they hadn't even been able to identify em yet.. (it happened 2 days ago) so sad...

I hope you are doing OK Erica. Whiplash SUCKS!
Car accidents are freaky, I lost control after strating from a stoplight when going to Whistler, I hit black ice at 20kph and spun into a ditch. It took me a while to get over the anxiety when I drove again. I don't want to sound mean, but your friend doing 125kph on Friday night when it was raining like that is REALLY stupid. I almost hydroplaned after dropping Adam off that night and I was doing only 60kph. That scared the shit out of me. Rest up and if you need to talk, give me a call. Take care. Winston

It was nice chatting with you erica, and you reminded me once again to never take life for granted... We only live once and i mean, anything could happen at any given time, as it has to me also! While i'm here, i'd like to send out all my love to everyone on here so you all know how much i care. Once again, my bday was unbelievable, and i couldn't have had that amazing turn around after nothing but stress for such a long time! Now you all know what my message of the day is. Thanks to all those who have been there for me all the way, in heart and in person. I appreciate it so much! if you have never met me, please take the time in your busy life to say hi, and stop me while i'm dancing if ya have to too!! haha... tell me i suck too! you can't miss this guy in the COV shirt. And who thought it was *cool* to do 125km thru a puddle on a rainy day? That's was dumb...and suicidal...ESPECIALLY with other cars around!!!!!!! *kiMMie cringes from Erica's ~evil twin~ pain* I am thanking God that you're okay right now...

Kimmie**I know. I guess getting into a car accident doesn't quite fall under the category of taking it easy. :024: I really am SO thankful to be okay right now. My neck hurts like a bitch...it swoll up yesterday, and it's still like that right now. But whatever. It could have been SO much worse. And I'm so glad we just missed that other car. I wouldn't have been able to live with myself if we hurt/killed somebody else.
Winnie**Yeah, it happened after I came over to your house...obviously, cause the car was still okay when I saw you. Trust me when I say that the car wasn't drivable after the accident. Definitely totalled...

i no what its like
a couple years ago me and my cuz was driving home from PNE, we had just droped one of his friends home.... we were doing about 70 km/hr about to go around a right turn. at this time i was falling asleep but all i can remember is waking up and shaking the glass out of my shoe... he had smashed into a cement pillar underneath a over pass....no body was hurt, my cuz had 12 stiches in his upper left eye, but that was it tho.... the doctor said i was lucky that i was sleepin because i would have been more tramatized, but since i was relaxed, i just didnt know what was going on but once i realized this i was fucken scared, it made me wonder what would have happened is something else had happened?? and now every time i drive by a small accedent i think back to what happened to me and it makes me think how lucky i was :DragonB:

Just make sure you get consulted by a doctor before taking any medications for your whiplash...some are NOT compatible!!!! Even if it's aspirin, tynelol, muscle relaxants, etc... Or ask me... :Kimmie:

and you're telling US that a car can be a weapon?? ive lost a friend to a car accident just earlier this year, and im shocked at how irresponsible and stupid some people can be sometimes john 2899131
