graffiti?
first of all does anyone else on here graff? wouldnt mind getting to know fellow artists..
secondly, for anyone who has a positive or negative opinion about graffiti/tagging reply here with your thoughts who knows? maybe we can get a semi intelligent discussion going..... peace

I don't do it but I have seen a lot of work that is just amazing. Tags aren't art though. I used to tag my name too. There is a difference between art and vandalism.

Some graf is art. I've seen a lot around here thats really good. Despite the fact that its art it isn't somehing that should be put ont he side of someones home or anything like that. I think really good graf is something you have to search for. It isn't sitting there in the open (ie: off the side of the skytrain tracks)
www.visualorgasm.com Tagging on the other hand is a ridiculous waste of time. You see it on the bus, telephone poles, vending machines, whatever..... it is talentless crap. Any no talent ass clown can make up a tag. I'm more wondering what sort of purpose it serves.... does it mark your territory? Because to me thats about as effective as doing it like a dog... piss on a pole and let everybody know this is YOUR turf. My opinion, good graffiti can qualify as art, but anything else is crap. Make no mistake though, ALL of it is vandalism whether you like it or not.

Yeah, I'll talk to my buddy and see if he has anything. If he does I'll scan it up for sure. Next time your downtown go to the opposite side of the street that the theatre is on and look at the very top of the building behind the sign. You can see where it was because the paint they used to cover it up was a slightly different colour. Atleast then you can get idea of the size of it.

Lol I wish that I could do graffiti. Its quite entertaining to watch sumone do it. And it always looks awsome in the end.
If there were a skool that was teaching it, I would definately be there front row seat. :)

Graffiti fuckin rocks. Large murals in alley ways and sides of building looks great. However, I fuckin hate people who just fuckin tag.
I think there posers who can't do real graffiti art. Ya'll fuckers are just costing honest businessman money. It's fuckin vandilism. Christof, have you ever done art on a building, get painted over and come back? I mean if the owner paints over it do you get offended?

Graffiti is alot more than just art it's a way of life, an addiction for some. For those of you hateing on taging you must understand that that's part of the game i use to be up alot with tags and throws but i mainly stick to trains now. This city is getting way to heated out for doing walls mainly because of ignorant toys just makeing a mess. It's getting harder and harder to keep the graff scene alive, the city has buffed all the legal walls like main st.,
and esplendae. But there are lots of writers out there who still kill shit makeing the city a more colourful place. much respect to RESER, DEKOY, AGE, TARS, FES, BEN, MARK, OPE, AVERS, YEAR, TYMER, KOVER, LABEL, DECT, MENTOS, HESK, AKEWS, TASQ, FUNK, SALMON, CAMEO, KAPUT, STAGE, ACROW, COSOE(who's bin in the game for 20 years), IDEA, OBAE, COLA, TAKE5, KWEST, SENSR, STELTH, PZES, KEEN, JETONE, WERD, YESCA, ESENS, ADEPT, ENSOE, VIRUS, DEDOS, EFROK, FORM, PLUS and all the other talented artists who fill this city wih original works of art. Oh and i think the roller bomb you were talking about was done by NUEK, and CASTRO.

thats like askin if nude drawings are allowed to be displayed freely around in public. some ppl will think its just wrong (vandelism regarding graffs) and some people think its freedom of art. in my opinion art should be displayed whereever the artist chooses. larger controlled graff murals are amazing, imagine having every blank wall in the world full of graff... wut a colorful world it would be. i dont know where im getting at, but simply graff is a form of art and if the artist chooses to leave a mark at capitol 6, he/she should be allowed to.
i cannot tag too well at all.. but im workin on expanding my style. its a wonderful doodling thing. one day i wanna do a canvas controlled piece with spraypaint. (if i can fukin afford spraypaint..damn costs sooo much)
