Why do people comment that they need more female dj's for a certian genre?

What differance does it make. It's not like they are doing vocals or anything. They are playing tracks produced by men in a studio.

I was wondering the same thing... Personally I dont give two shits what gender the DJ is as long as s/hes doing a good job. In fact Id generally prefer a male DJ as female DJs are often hired for qualities other than their DJing skills (Im definately not saying that all femal Djs are bad tho - For examplem Dj Leanne is the shit).

a girl dj who can mix will create hype. a girl dj whos hot and is good will get the party jumping! in most cases they are just really good ways to get the vibe at the party running... plus damn you should see how much pressure is put on the chicks! hahaha if they pull of a mix damn everyone will have their new favorite dj! so my point is that promotors in alot of cases just like to book girl djs to get a better vibe, not necessarily because of their outstanding skill and creativity. sex appeal will always get a party jumping =)
