There's No Such Thing As A Coincidence.
I've been attracting some really freaky stuff with my mind lately.
I've been doing research on moving to Australia for a year or two or three or whatever, and last night at work I was on the computer looking up information on what nursing jobs in Australia are like. All of a sudden this ICU nurse comes up to our unit to see if any of our patients need his help/ICU expertise. All of my patients were fine, so I just kept doing my thing on the computer. Then I turned around and noticed that he was a giant black man. Since there aren't any black RNs at my hospital (well until i saw this guy) I was curious and asked him where he was from. He said he was from Nigeria and had been working at my hospital since June of last year. When I told him where I was from he said something about one of his best friends in England being from there too. I asked him if he'd moved here from England last year. He said no. He'd moved here from.... YOU GUESSED IT, AUSTRALIA! So I got to talk to him about Australia and what nursing there is like for about ten minutes. Cost of living...Taxes...Lifestyle....everything . I don't believe in random events anymore. Anyways, I was a little discouraged about this move because I'd be making a lot less money over there, but having this conversation really helped me make up my mind. Oh and Dave, he LOVES Melbourne and said that Sydney was not that great. Pretty much all the same stuff about the two places that the Australian couple in Tofino said about them. But I'm going to listen to you and start off in Sydney. Oh and before negative nellies like lil donkey chime in and ask why I had to include the part about the ICU nurse being black. HI I WOULDN'T HAVE STARTED TALKING TO HIM IN THE FIRST PLACE IF I DIDN'T WANT TO KNOW WHERE HE WAS FROM ORIGINALLY. SO THAT IS AN IMPORTANT PART OF MY STORY. OK, THANKS! Coincidences don't exist! |

Law of Attraction. I met this shaman-in-training while he dishwashed for us for three days. He worked here long enough to take me on a mescaline trip and when he got fired, he left me with everything I need to explore the inner reaches of my psyche. Before I had left Fort Nelson, I had hoped to meet someone who could put me on a more clear path.

Yeah, I am talking about the law of attraction, but i'm pretty sure that you can figure this stuff out while you're sober too. Just got to chapters or the book warehouse. :P |

Esi, Tim is thinking about deferring his medical school acceptance so that next summer we can move to Australia for a year. I don't know how I feel about this - it could be cool but at the same time I'm a little hesitant. Anyhow, point is that our paths may cross there :)

I'm really lucky that I can basically go and work anywhere in the world.
I've always wanted to travel, but not at the risk of my career and education (grad school is still on the horizon). I forgot that I could do both. Natalie: that would be really neat! Revolver: for real. it's amazing! :) |

That's much different than lets say a fast, followed by a meditation aided with some psychedelics...well...maybe you don't think so, but then, have you really ever tried anything like that? |

The whole law of attraction thing is very real, but overly marketed and simplified as per 'the Secret'.
It doesn't have to be mystical to understand that when you change the way you look at the world, the world you look at changes. Give it enough mustard and its bound to get mystical though. |
