^^ True enough. As with any negative human emotion though, this is true. Identify the fear, recognize it, and let it wash over you. Then if the fear turns out to be warranted, you're not overly surprised about it (probably just disappointed). And if the fear is unwarranted, you don't do anything stupidly reactionary about it.

In regards to the question, jealousy is a useless emotion. You absolutely don't need it. If you are feeling jealous, you have inadequacey issues, or trust issues. Both need to be settled before you can succeed at a real relationship. And if you're in one and still feeling those, check yo'self. You should be able to love yourself, and you should be able to trust your s/o.

i guess jealousy is insecurity and posessiveness to an extent.

but moreso, your partner should respect you (and have focus on you) enough that they don't act in a way towards others that is comparable to the way they act towards you (flirtatious, sweet, affectionate)... BECAUSE:

the fact remains, if your boyfriend/girlfriend treats other people the same way (or even better sometimes) than they treat you.. (or their friends treat them the way you do, lovey and shit), it's bound to make you (most of us at least) say "wtf?"

..it's just not right. some things are reserved for one special person
