I watched this tonight for the first time this season and all I have to say is, wow, what a joke. I mean, we all know that Canadian Idol is kinda lame, but seeeeeeeeeriously.

Of course, I shouldn't even be wading into this thread because I loathe all "reality" shows.

Fakest shit out there these days. This is the real medium right here. Or at least, as real as it gets.

As for why American Idol is far superior to Canadian Idol?.. I might just hazard a guess that it has something to do with the fact Americans have always been better egocentric, insincere, grandstanding bullshitters than Canadians.

^ I think it's because basically NONE of the Canadian Idol winners have had any sort of success. The show loses its credibility when they don't create "Idols". Anyone who has a decent shot at actually becoming a famous singer wouldn't want to get anywhere near Canadian Idol because it would basically kill their career before it even started.

Is Canadian Idol a horrible career choice because it sucks so much?

Or do the people on Canadian Idol suck so much that inevitably they won't be able to sustain careers?

Either way, I think we can agree there's a whole lot of sucking going on.

yeah cuz it's about finding someone with the total package......it's not called Vocal Idol....they try to find someone with good looks, personality, voice, prescence etc.

FRA that girl got booted bc the producers found out that she had posed nude on the internet (for money) and didn't disclose it. She was Simon's favourite from the get-go despite her appearance.

In other news, I think they should add another judge to either CI or AI...ME! Because reaaaaaaaaally what are some of those contestants WEARING!? eeeeeegads! The only thing that is worse than their voices is their outfits!

a friend on mine was on the first canadian Idol, he got to third and then asked his fans not to vote for him so that he wouldnt get stuck in a contract. He then joined back up with his band and signed with Capital records and then with Captial in the US. So I mean Idol sucks but some people do OK
