ban smoking EVERYWHERE!!!

smoking cause cancer and other serious illnesses, this is not being disputed. smoking indoors in public places just isn't really fair to the non smokers. this I am fine with and support. where it gets a little gray to me is when I hear people talking about banning smoking everywhere. I mean in public places like bus stops, patios, the streets and so on. my complaint is this. where do we draw the line? I'm planning on selling my truck in the near future and getting around on foot only. does this entitle me to demanding that people not drive in public places? what about all of the other pollutants that people create in public places? gas stations, factories, and even something as benign as cows all release toxic fumes. I just think it would be very ironic that I could be sitting on a patio on a busy road breathing CO2 from cars but I couldn't smoke a cigarette.

so how far do go in giving over control of these things?

You know what..I think it's awesome.

I hate walking downtown with my nephews (to see a parade or something) and people blowing their smoke everywhere and having to wave it away from our faces..

I understand that it's an addiction and not easy to quit..but come on...can't you wait until your somewhere where other people don't have to be effected by your second hand smoke?

Im sooo happy they are banning smoking in vehicles with children. When is it ever ok to smoke infront of a child?

it depends the setting. I'm not a huge fan of the laws.

I like smoking in places like bars and clubs. In my opinion, it should be more tolerated in these settings.

but I wont light up among a big group of people at say a bus stop, and certainly wont smoke around children.
