its easy to link the threat of terrorism to starting a war or passing the patriot act but using it as an argument for an economic/political union is far fetched.

making money terrorist proof does not equate monetary union..its a huge leap.

the amerodollar would have the same problem as the old dollar, it would be really hard to pitch this as combating terorism. It also seems that people have caught onto the use of fear to justify the government's projects. Come next terorist attack im willing to bet that people won't as quickly toe the governments line, particularly the current administration.

back to subject,

there is no way bush will push this through during his term. but he is laying the groundwork. the amerodollar is very real. it is the farthest thing from a 'kooky consipiracy' wich seems to be a very popular concept for some fnk posters to latch onto.

it will be a gradual process. a slow one.im not a gambling man but i would bet that we would all see something amerodollarish come our way in our lifetime.

i agree. but i wouldn't be surprised if they tried to use it anyway. but yeah they could try other arguments (like the decline of their dollar, etc). but if there are talks in progress and this is something they want to pursue, then they have probably already have a good idea of how they are going to get it to pass and it's gotta be a pretty good argument. should be interesting.
