On the brink of another federal election?
Well the speech from the throne has just ended. The platform has been set forward based on the conservative governments agenda. But now its up to the entire house to vote for it or against it. It outlined extending mission afghanistan to 2011 and that the Kyoto accord and its gas emission targets are "dead". There were other items also mentioned as to what they have planned. The Liberals and the NDP however support the Kyoto accord and want a withdrawl of canadian troups from afghanistan no later by 2009. These are actually 2 important platforms that both parties commonly agree upon. My guess is that when it comes down to the voting amoungst the house both NDP,Liberals and the Bloc Quebecois will vote against the agenda and end up having harper force an election. Or the parties can also hold a non confidence vote which again would force harper to call an election.
So whats your take? Looking forward to a possible election or not???
