ppl good with computers/ipods

i got my ipod yesterday, i put it in. it worked but it didnt ask me to register it or anything cuz it prob thought it was my old one...put itoff and today wont work, tried charging it still wont turn on...tried what website reccomended with pressing these two buttons..wont work
is there anything i am missing it or is it clearly busted?

Did you try restarting it? Lock and unlock your iPod. Put your ipod on a flat surface, and hold the menu and play button for 10 seconds. Try that a few times, if that doesn't work, try it while it's plugged into your computer. If THAT doesn't work, try throwing it out the window... or returning it to the store.

I tried the menu and play button and it didnt work, but when I pressed the menu and center button it did. I have a 30gig and that unfroze it.

Yes, pressing the menu button also turns the device on. Check.

my ipod video will occasionally get into super dead low battery beyond fucked stage. It only gets like this when I'm using the FM transmittor, which I guess overrides the internal shut off, and will drain the battery to absolute deadness.

It will take about 30 times of plugging it in to charge, disconnecting, plugging it in, disconnecting, until it comes up with "VERY LOW BATTERY, CHARGING", not the regular low battery.

But yeah, just return it. Did you get the new ipod touch? they're pretty neat i must say.

well actually i really want an iPhone, but yes I do hate proprietary things. which is why I will only get an unlocked version, OR maybe I will be lucky enough to have them get iPhone 2.0's released for Rogers
