ghosts i don't really know about.
but there's tons of ufo sightings in my hometown, Terrace. That whole area is recognized by the paranormal community as on of Canada's hot spots for such activity. I've seen my share! Last edited by -evil-duerr-; Oct 31, 07 at 11:31 AM. |

doesn't anyone have any stories????
i totally believe in spirits. when i was living at home my sisters, my mom and me all had the same experience. my sister was the first. she woke up one morning and came downstairs and was like "mom, why did you wake me up so early??". my mom said she'd never even gone into her room. my sister was freaking out saying someone came and rubbed her cheek all soft, like my mom would do to wake her up but when she opened her eyes there was no one there, so she assumed my mom had come in and snuck out 'cause she didn't wake right away. 2 nights prior to this the same thing had happened to me but i slept in the basement and didn't want to think about it, so i never mentioned it 'cause it totally creeped me out. a few weeks later my mom was woken by the same thing, soft brushing on her cheek and when she opened her eyes and no one was there she said she could feel soemthing there but no one was in sight! apparently before our house was bulit something really bad happened on our property and only 1 older neighbour knows and she goes white as a ghost and will NOT speak of it. she said its better that we don't know. and my mom has brought it up twice but this lady gets so freaked she drops it. we've never been able to find any information on it. |

I was in the lake district in the UK, staying at a 200yr old bed n' breakfast type building up this creepy alley. We were the only people staying in the place, the front door was locked, and apparently somebody opened and closed all the doors (slammed them) at 3.am. over and over. We woke up to have breakfast, and I saw a spirit/ghost image of an old lady hover quickly across the window. This wasn't no "maybe" .. this was the real deal, and I don't bs about stuff like that.
Apparently there had been like 5 owner changes over a couple years because of how badly haunted the place was. I know I wouldn't really wanna stick around! |

The house I grew up in was/still is haunted.
Unfortunately, I had to put my my mom into long-term care, and intended on selling the house. Situation changed, and now my sis is living there, upgrading it, to be sold next summer. I _really_ didn't want to go back there, again! Still Active - Castle of Spirits.com Ghost Story I also worked at a Keg Restaurant in Brampton, Ont., when I was in high school. Very active! Machines turning on, by themselves, voices and footsteps in empty areas, sightings (the old man, twice, "George", at least 30 times), stuff moving on their "own" accord... When I was there, last summer, I happened to be waiting for a bus, just outside, and decided to go in and talk to the new staff (it's now totally revamped as a Cycle-Path store). Started talking to the guys in the maintenance area, and casually asked if anything "odd" ever happened. One guy flipped out, threw down his tools and demanded to know wtf I was on about. His co-worker explained that they get someone at least every 2 weeks asking the same thing. I explained what I'd experienced in the building, as a restaurant. Calmer guy asks, "Did anyone ever see a dog?" ?! "Yeah.", I replied. "I never did, but a few people reported it." Calm guy says to stressed dude, "(insert random name) said she saw an old man walking w/ a dog, upstairs near the offices, just last week." So, still active, too. Plus, the old Woodlands Psych institute was active (I'd love to talk to some of the people who are living there, now it's been turned into condos!) Riverview? I can take you to the ghosts who stay in certain spots. Alibi Room in Gastown, Hycroft Mansion, UBC, Kingston Pub, .... I don't have the energy to type all this shit out. You'll have to sit me down and buy me a couple of pints in a pub, and I'll gab for, literally, hours. Some people call it a "gift". FUCK THAT!!!!!!!! I don't _WANT_ to know when someone is standing near me, and they don't have a physical body!!! Frosty (doesn't ghost-hunt) |

Experiences are generally what make people believe, otherwise most people just don't feel inclined to believe..it gets in the way of 'physical' life. The odd thing about paranormal phenomenon in general is that you can actually disway most typical phenomenon simply by not believing in them. If this isn't the case, there's probably something heavy goin' on. In my experiences, having an open mind and just going with a "yes" to the what if tends to unravelled a web of synchronicity that eventually has lead to full on apparitions right before my eyes, and this has happened not just from going to sleep...but also in broad daylight in the middle of the day.
Since most people are not_ready/afraid of something like this, most won't bother to go down the rabbit hole, and hence most skeptics can choose not to believe and can feel perfectly logical doing so since all sane and intelligent people don't believe in that sort of nonsense and just won't bother in the first place. Well...to me that's a coward's attitude, there's no sense of adventure, no thirst to explore and unravel the mystery of just how we all, and everything else, got here in the first place. To me accepting that what's physical is real and everything else is a product of an over active imagination or a halluicination is a tired old mantra for the religion of the athiest (many skeptics try to consider this state of mind the common stance of the scientific community). To me that's just like being a hamster in a cage, hanging onto a living life obsessed with material phenomenon when that experience will inevitably expire. It feels like life's more worth living when I let curiousity get the cat...cuz seriously, if it's not real, where's the harm in taking a gooood look? I wont give the long versions unless I'm prodded to but I've seen my share of flying craft and spirits. Now as for paranormal phenomenon in general...let's use a tad of science and some common sense. The light spectrum of physical matter is a very small fraction to what we have measured with the supporting gravity in anti-matter, think like a sliver in the pie... and that's just the light we can measure...how limited are these instruments we're using compared to what technologies we will have in just another 50 years (assuming we dont blow ourselves up)? Then perhaps one day we'll all know. It seems we're now at the point where we can finally use science to proove spiritual concepts...people are catching on. One book: the cosmic serpent ...it will blow your mind.... The Cosmic Serpent, DNA and the Origins of Knowledge So okay y'al' right now with string theory, what we thought were balls of energy called atoms are just empty bubbles with tiny strings vibrating and the light is bent around the object according to that frequency emitted. We've known this for a long time, if you ask me it's why in Hinduism it's said the world was created by sound, ohm, the prana va...the energy matrix we can call your higher self, or zero point, depending on your angle. Maybe you like another version better: at first there was the word, and the word was God. Or was it? We're talking about energy folks. It's all just energy, a holographic trick for conciousness to play. That's all you are, all I am, all anything is. Like Bill Hicks would say, we are all one mind, experiencing itself subjectively. If that doesn't make sense, eat some shrooms and get out of your mind to come to your senses. The universe is teeming with life on all other spectrums...but don't take my word for it, if you really care to find out...you will. and yes I needed the rant okay, I had a friend die just the other day. Do You Realize - that you have the most beautiful face Do You Realize - we're floating in space - Do You Realize - that happiness makes you cry Do You Realize - that everyone you know someday will die And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know You realize that life goes fast It's hard to make the good things last You realize the sun don'-go down It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round Do You Realize - Oh - Oh - Oh Do You Realize - that everyone you know Someday will die - And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know You realize that life goes fast It's hard to make the good things last You realize the sun don'-go down It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round Do You Realize - that you have the most beautiful face Do You Realize |
