The actor also suffered reality problems due to people not clued into the fact that Mr Dressup is make-believe. I guess some people never grow up. On Friendly Giant, the giraffe was named Jerome and the rooster was named Rusty, but both puppet masters were guys. Supposedly it was run this way on FG to prevent the mixing of work and romance. Tho', what is bonding over a couple pints of brewski with the union boys but a latent form of homoeroticism! :p I think children's programming went downhill when that purple monster and those aliens became popular. However, 1969 marks the watershed year when the nuclear home blew its collective mind. As family devolved into single parent units, nursing homes became big business while the able bodied chased after some Hollywoodized version of the fountain of youth advertised on TV. I think I prefer the really weird early 60s programming on CBC consisting of advertisement warning against mixing up ant poison for sugar and other dangers around the home. As well, the scariest movie i saw was not on TV but in Grade One when we were exposed to anti-pedophile propaganda in the auditorium. The movie was 15-20 minutes, and you never saw the pedophile. All I remember is culverts and forest. Essentially the movie was designed to create fear of nature and the outdoors as a side effect. The slasher films help reinforce this "nature is evil" concept. Though, the animes could use a "howto" on creating manga in addition to hours of anime. |

I am gonna hold off mentioning much about Soleil Moon Frye except for her role in Punky Brewster. She also starred in Wonder Years as "the other girl".
Then she got out of the acting side of show biz because the adult world conflicted with her Christian ethics, which make her the opposite of Jessica Hahn. She was the youngest director at 22, directing "WIld Horses". Soleil as Punky 1984 Soleil as Sabrina's friend Roxie King in Season 6 on Sabrina the Teenaged Witch Soleil today Props to her parents, Virgil Frye and Sondra Peluce Londy. Yeop, they never changed their names when they got married, with him being an ex boxer and actor and them being sorta hippies. Here's an interview of Soleil: Click here Her best movie is the documentary she did of her dad in 2004. A sufferer of Pick's Disease only lasts about 2-6 years, sometimes 17 with proper care. i always watched that show when i was a kid and thought they were both wack, the smoggies for polluting for no reason and the enviro crew for being such whiney fags about it. i guess my political views originated at a young age. anyone remember captain planet? i thought the coolest episode was about the gang wars. i think there was even a rave scene in it my thug/rave tendencies were programmed at a young age i guess. |
