Looking for charitable ideas for a house party.

Hey I have a banger every year w/ about 50 of my close friends and last year we made it a non perishable item type deal. basically everyone brings canned food. I'm not sure if it was lost in translation or if my friends were just not giving a shit but only about 50% showed up with a contribution. I'm throwing another one soon and I want to see some effort so......

Givin the circumstances who do you think is the best candidate for some sort of charitable donation?? Food bank, Charity, Etc

What is the best contribution one could give??? Toys, Clothing, Food, Money????

What is the most marketable donation? I want every person in that place to bring something however i'm not about to turn my close friends away for not bringing something.

If anyone has any ideas please let me know.

if it were me....

they would be required to show up with the invite in hand that they were sent, and a twoonie. i would have someone hired to be at the door, with a box and a jar. box for invites, jar for twoonies. if they didnt come with one or the other, they would be turned away. and it wouldnt matter what they said, cause the person hired to do their job, would be doing their job. all guests they brought would also require a twoonie. the twoonie is easeir as people dont need to think about it, and you arent putting them out too much.

i would donate to a local charity as opposed to a national one. and it would be one that i know struggled throughout the winter due to the demand.

I suggest opening it up to donations of all kind, toys, food, money, and clothing. Thats way people have more options, and less chance of saying oops. Also, i'm sure you could drop all of these off at one or two lacations and be helping many people during the winter.

I like avana's idea. I would combine your original idea with avana's.

Bring any sort of donation, otherwise a toonie @ the door. That way ppl have way more open options and wouldn't fail to participate, and for the skeptical ppl they certainly wouldn't think you are charging the tonnies for profit or anything.

yea.. actually clothing of any sort is what you should mainly ask for.. as it is now winter and being cold 24/7 on the streets is a real killer :(

so yea, I would suggest clothing of any sort to be a VERY good choice!!!!!
