hey guys let's talk about the presidential race
tomorrow's good ol iowa caucus.
i'm thinking clinton's going to win out over obama, only because the older you are the more likely you are to vote, especially in a caucus vote. huckabee....man, where did this guy come from? I don't want to make a prediction here, but gut instinct tells me he might be able to edge out romney... what about you guys? |

Dr. Ron Paul.
The man, the myth, the legend. :P Ron Paul - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia He wont win, but I think he'll surprise a lot of people. |

Another Ron Paul beef: I'd be a lot more for localizing things to the states, if shit like this didn't happen in state legislature:
I dunno. I think he's overrated just because he's the ONLY conservative candidate that's not campaigning on the same platform that Bush did. Which bugs me... wouldn't they want to distance themselves from an administration with a lower-than-30% approval rating? Unless, of course, the votes are being fixed and they just want to use the rhetoric as "proof" that the general American populous supports the "War On Terror" and all the bullshit policies that ensued afterwards. Still bugs me when politicians say "Nobody could have predicted 9/11". How do we know? They disbanded all the counterterrorism units that WOULD have prevented it, so we don't know if it could have been prevented, do we? |

The thing is Hilary's foreign policy doesn't differ all that much so a transition in parties would see minimal effects. Some say a wealthy independent such as Bloomberg could capitalize on disdain for both parties.
This is going to be really close and it could swing any way. Should be an interesting '08.` |

I'm sorry, but I really don't see Hillary Clinton anywhere on a winning ticket. (I realize how this negates my previous post about Gore).
Reason being that the extreme right-wing won't see her as any different than Bill, and the extreme left-wing will see her as not anything like Bill. Most importantly, she's been too downtrodden in funding scandals over the course of her campaign that a lot of the left-wing may turn on her. In fact, facing off against Hillary Clinton is the only way I see Ron Paul winning. |

aye, growing up i thought the left was where it's at. right now i'd put myself "a little bit more than just right of center" on most issues.
