wow... I didn't know there would be this kind of out break over recommending a tattoo artist. I have 2 tattoos that are done by Ryan Halter at the dutchman. If you're wanting a bigger peice I'd goto him. I also got a tattoo done by Jake(not sure of his last name sorry) at phat city and he did a great job too.

Thats the other thing with Carlos, he does portraits and is a great artist especially when wanting things to look more life like. Worth checking out if thats thr route you want to go with your tattoo, if not, could still be worth it but i couldn't say for sure. |

but since I checked out most of these artists with the help of google and idle time at work, I was able to surmise the results for the most part as MID QUALITY, as stated in my above post. Nowhere did I call anyone mediocre, I stated MID QUALITY which means AVERAGE... perhaps the capitalization of these words will penetrate your thick skull into that tiny stegosaurus brain of yours. Yes I mentioned I cringed at an uneven circle, but think about it ... if you had an uneven circle tattooed on your forearm for the rest of your life how the fuck would you feel? Exactly. Nowhere did I engage in lecturing anyone, I even thanked people for arguing in this thread! I'm a fucking philanthropist! For future reference please don't try to engage in a battle of words with me or you'll be left sodomized and delirious like an anal probed alien experiment. You can say hi to Mark for me! (MARKI'MJUSTKIDDINGILOVEYOUKTHXBYE!) ;) |

George, my man. Check out this dude's website. Trevor Mackay
He's one of the owners at the shop I recommended. He's anything but mid-quality. When I worked there, he was booked for a year in advance and the full-body piece he was doing was unbelievable. I've worked in the industry at a couple of shops now and I've seen people leave with mediocre work at best thinking they've got something to rival Starry Night on their body. Bad ink hurts the industry regardless of who did it. This guy can free-hand and improvise without err and when he uses colour, he does so in a way that ensures time won't cause the colours to fade into each other and become blurry. There's a piece on his site with Jormungandr. I think you'll appreciate it. Check it out. |

Also at the same shop: Terry Mercer
He does more old-school style inkwork. I believe he specializes in portraits. He was also booked beyond belief... well, any man that can recreate Escher on skin should be. edit: Looking at his gallery though, they really could have picked better work of his for examples. adj. Moderate to inferior in quality;not very good or great; ordinary. See Synonyms at average. pretty much the same as mid quality. i totaly understand that you want to be sure that your tattoo is exactly as you want it, but you probalby could have said this without saying that some others, who took the time to post to help you, that the artists they like are mid-quality. obviously they don't think that, so i guess it's a difference of opinion. how is the hunt going anyway? have you found any you like? |
|
|||
lol @ synonyms reference, thats rich!
but the hunt is going fairly well thank you peeped some of rob hope's stuff and was impressed ... im still trying to decide if i want a B&W bird or a not, but I'm thinking that the dutchman is going to be my location thanks again everyone! |
