So this Friday my friends and I are thinking about going to ATL, its going to be the J-swing and koo party night there I guess. Just wondering, since Ive never been there, how is it?

Drinks prices/specials?
Cover?
Vibe?
etc...

Vibe is meh, drinks are pricey and cover is a bit above par for vancouver ( I think it was 10 to get in the door and coat check was 3 or 4 ).

I used to work with 90% of the staff from Atlantis at Sonar for doomen, they would tell me horrid stories and that Sonar is a walk in the park compared to Atlantis

and at sonar, we were getting into fights every 20 minutes.

i used to goto ATL all the time when i was young. the beat taking over the friday nights ruined it. Yes it was asian. Yes it was over priced. Yes it was hip-pop and r&b. But all my friends were asian and we'd always seems to have like 30 friends there. I remember nothing but good times about that place...then they got rid of the good bouncers who didn't have to grease... the nights started to suck and well....i've never been back.

the stereotype banner brings out some of the hottest music out there ATM...

atlantis was excellent back in the day when the swtich from palladium was first done. there were some really amazing shows there (ed rush optical,dillinja) back in the day....but, for me like some other older kids here...that place will always be palladium too me.

to be honest...i thought atlantis closed down long ago its so far off (our scene's) radar LOL....

Atlantis was never Palladium.

Atlantis was Mars and then Wettbar.

Palladium was further down the road and was previously Graceland.

Our company owned both of them.

if you go to Atlantis for a special event tho, it's the highest on my list of clubs, looks awesome inside and the sound is the sickest that I can think of (based on the last few DnB shows I've seen there - awhile ago now)

I'm not too keen on the sound or lay out in there, but it does have one of the most amazing lighting rigs out of any of the clubs in town. The entire rig is on hydraulics and can shit and rotate to fit needs.
