Moses was a drug addict.
Moses was high on drugs: Israeli researcher
"Every few thousand years some shepard inhales smoke from a burning bush and has a vision or eats moldy rye bread in a cave and sees God. From then on their followers kill one another at the slightest provocation. Haunted houses called temples are built by one side and torn down by another - and then bloody quarrels continue over the crumbling foundations." - Kerry Thornley |

Drugs help you see patterns. Particularly entheogens. patterns help you see things that others might be too caught up in their own shit that they don't realize, but the flipside is you may also overcompensate and see things that don't exist (otherwise known as hallucinations). Usually it's a combination of both.

One of my best trips was when I was 15, smoked some golden hash, ate an 8th of shrooms, kicked back all warm & snuggly watchin weird tv, when I was peaking I closed my eyes, put my head in my lap and saw a massive wheel (mandala) slowly turning, it kept going for infinity, building in brightness & intensity, when it got to the centre, it was Jesus, crown of thorns & all, really tripped me out cause I was mad antieverything religious then, so yeah, I agree...so does Gibby...:P

Yeah, I did that one on mush. I would've flipped back to reality but the setting I was in had kind of already dissipated the concept, so even if I wanted to I probably wouldn't have been able to snap back...
Even cooler was seeing the Moral Orel episode where he had that exact trip. He did it through meditation, but he's a bit of a transcendent character... I love that show. Utterly tasteless but underneath it it's an interesting messianic story... |

But as for Jesus or any religious figure... they've never so much as made a cameo in a passing notion in any of my experiences. |

Those hallucinations, however much created purely out of thought, seem to be viewed as something fake or synthisized by someone taking on a more rational/western point of view. With experience being the primary data for being...I think the term 'hallucination' is often a write off term for some innate subconcious imagery (that I would relate somewhat to the dreaming mind) that may otherwise prove very valuable to the experiencer. The trick to it all is knowing when one is overcompensating or not. And yeah...there's a reason that Yahweh was also said to be the most-high in the holy of holies. |
