I don't think Einstein's quote is meant to make 1 better then the other. Knowledge is what is known and imagination is what goes beyond that to invision something different. IE How Newtons laws, which were so celebrated in its time, had been brought against Einstein's theory of relativity.

The first spoken words/stories were represented by symbols, runes, or cave drawings of the paleolithic era. This was part of an oral culture which changed with the phonetic alphabet. The phonetic alphabet allows for other languages to be translated into a host language such as Greek or Latin.

Latin then spawned the romance languages of french, spanish and italian. English is mish-mash of languages and other weird stuff we've decided to throw in there.

I'm gonna have to say that you err on the side of caution by trying to be unbiased about something that is clearly biased, ergo:

That's as clear as day...however imagination is such a broad term...it doesn't mean that there isn't a duplicity to it's nature that needs to be balanced, it's just the principle of knowledge just doesn't fit with this paradigm as far as I can tell.

You see knowledge is in itself at an inactive state, it has absolutely no purpose without consciousness to utilize it and make it useful. Infact, without consciousness (in this case imagination), knowledge doesn't even exist.

I think you'd be right if you'd defer to knowledge as wisdom.

In that case I'm reminded of the words of Wayne Dyer (who knows if they're his original words), and I paraphrase "Wisdom tells me I am nothing. Love tells me I am everything. And between the two, my life flows."

All knowledge is passed on.

Of course we need both, the two only compliment each other. But being creative and having an imagination is idealy what moves our world forward. Hence why it is more important. You could know every answer in the world, but imagination is what helps us solve the problems we dont know the answer to yet.
