i think they should have waited one year but whatever. i still cant believe their interested in that swede because if he doesnt deliver, look at all the other swedes on the team that havent done the job. more fuel for the fire |

fuck nonis, fuck burke
they are good GMs, im not saying the firing was the right move, but if were cleaning house of Burkie Jr lets start fresh and not bring Burkie Sr back the firing has roots all the way to last summer i suspect, though most people will blame it on the stretch |

Burke would never come back.. he got offered more money to go to Toronto but flat out said he wants to stay in Anaheim for good.
I just hope we don't sign nassy, for the love of god. he was checked out 2 years ago. free up cap room and get a goal scorer. if we don't sign a sniper and have 2 good lines, we'll pretty much never do fuck all. |

personally my off season signings would go as follows, however these may change depending on the playoffs (because these player's price tags are bound to go up): Ryan Malone, Sean Avery, Christian Huselius.
Of course Hossa would be on the list, however I see Pitts going pretty far and his FA price skyrocketing. |

Thanks gawd Nonis is gone. It needed to happen and I couldn't be happier that it did. We may actually have a chance of building a team instead of throwing bandaids around.
Nazzy would be nice for 2 mill. We simply cannot afford to pay his 6 mill for 50 points. Plus, for a captain, I sure didn't hear much from him (or the Sedins for that matter) in the last two weeks of the season. Linden is worth resigning for the 4th line, but we need someone who can lead by example.Sean Avery... are you kidding? Having that racist dink on the team poisons the dressing room, and we already have leadership problems. That would guarantee missing the playoffs. Malone would be nice but we've already got a team full of second line players. Huselius is closer. We need a first line scorer or two as the highest priority, or one and a defenceman good for 50 points. Last edited by Mangle; Apr 15, 08 at 10:42 AM. |

^you obviously don't know how great avery would make our team. get past the garbage, and look at the success he brings to the rangers. regardless, my "picks" weren't meant to be the saving grace of the vancouver canucks, more so the building blocks around the all star...... but who's available?
Willie Mitchell will be named captain, add a canadian all-star, and we're set. |

Mitchell is overpayed for 2 goals a year. Salo is a tragic injury case who barely earns his wage as such (if he was healthy all the time, he'd be a steal). Ohlund should go. Naslund is probably going to retire anyway, but we could sign Avery and Malone for the price we'd have to pay to resign him. Waaaaaaaay too many Swedes. BTW, congrads on the lack of capital letters. Rawb for "most improved typer of the year." |
