i am in the market for a commuter bike. i havent purchased a bike in years. need help.

i'd be super cautious about craigslist bikes...mostly because A LOT of those are stolen :/ and it's just bad mojo buying someone's stolen bike.

I've been musing about this for a couple of years, and, now the time is prime!

Props buddy from work is a bike fanatic. He showed me pics of cruiser bikes he picked up @ a bike-fest in Seattle a couple of weeks ago.

Dude organizes his own meet, coming up, under the burrard bridge on Sun 04/05.

Vintage cruiser bikes. One, two, three speed. Kick-back brakes and hand brakes.

I'm going because, if I don't buy one from my bud, he'll at least make sure I'm getting a good deal on one that I fancy.
