They're both founded in basic logic. The only difference is that mathematics has no context, and philosophy isn't provable.

I'm really good at philosophy, and terrible at math
But your right..there is no real "right" answer with philosophy whereas math is just so simple and that's why its hard for me
this plus this equals this..and it just does..because some guy said so..no questions asked
theres no room for creativity or intellectual thought with math because its just so basic, and I think that is why I suck at it. I question and analyze everything and need answers and with math and science you just kindof have to take it for what it is...and I honestly think that is why guys are generally better at math. Not in a bad way but your minds generally work in that more simplistic direction whereas girls tend to over analyze which is why they are often good at english and such

the gender gap in math has really narrowed recently, leading many to speculate it had nothing to do with any innate abilities held by either sex and more to do with sweeping generalizations like this. that talking barbie doll that said math is hard didn't help either.

I kinda disagree
I know society has impacted the construction of gender...and I don't think boys are naturally gravitated to blue or leggo and girls with pink and barbie
however, I do think brains of men and women do differ- and I think this is one of the proofs of that
just my opinion though, and I definetely agree with you that most things have been socially constructed rather than are purely biological

Um, actually no. There's actually a proof for 1 + 1 = 2. From what I understand it's a four-page proof.

There's plenty of room for creativity, but it all comes in the form of problem-solving... finding new, unique, more efficient ways to determining something or prove something. If you don't believe, talk to anybody that's programmed a computer before.
