No we can't, we can get it snipped but they don't tie it up. They only tie chicks' tubes.

Main problem I think is they need to test it to make sure there are no permanent effects. With chicks it's a bit different because all you need to do is force the menstrual cycle - something your body does naturally anyways. Men don't have anything like that, you actually need to stop gamete production entirely. This doesn't happen with girls because all your gametes (eggs) are finished production at birth, and all that's left is to start dispensing them into the womb. For guys it's different because chemicals that would inhibit sperm production are going to either be less effective or serve the risk of not allowing it to start back up later. You need some natural way of cleaning out the chemical from your body, which can be very difficult. Also, there's a BIG ethical issue with testing these on humans when the risk is that they become chemically castrated. That's a guess based on what I know about the human reproductive system, though. I haven't taken biology since 2002 though so I wouldn't take my word for it. |

i know with girls sometimes they can 'untie' us. then.. boys should be more understanding when a girl goes psychotic on them if she is taking birth control. even tho the physical affects are reversable and can clear out of our systems, just imagine what the long term affects on our mental health are? living your entire life being told that girls are crazy, and thats just the way it is. maybe its partially true, and maybe its partially because of birth control. maybe its a conspiracy against all women to eventually make us all crazy and thus unable to execute our world domination plan.!!! but seriously.. and as for being unethical.. how did they test the female birth control? |

did a thought ever cross your mind to put the rubber on correctly?
haha one time i was drunk and somehow managed to put a hole in the side of the condom and when i put it on my wang went through the hole and neither of us noticed for like ten minutes. it was a strange situation. |

10 - 18% FAIL RATE because of shit like that. I really don't think that's a "haha" situation. You both could have contracted STDs and she could have become pregnant. I still think that women who are sexually active should be responsible and take birth control, unless of course there's a medical reason why they can't. It drives me absolutely crazy to hear "but last time I was on birth control I gained almost ten pounds". I guess an unplanned pregnancy is better? |

those 10 lbs might matter when they contract aids. |

what I meant by "take birth control" was use a form of contraception that is actually effective - ie. the pill, shot, patch, IUD, etc.. They are all pretty much 99.9 or 99.8 percent effective when used properly.

Birth Control Risks and Complications The potential link between oral contraceptives and breast cancer is not yet understood, and further research is required in order to determine this connection. However, there are some risks and long-term complications associated with the use of hormonal birth control methods. These include the following birth control risks:

i would vote that one out of the gene pool, no ovaries for you! the biggest problem i think is that in highschool we're given a huge run down on the pill and how great it is, and then they hand us a sample or tell us to get a sample from our doctor. don't think for a second that the pharmaceutical companies aren't pushing for that. i remember my teacher mentioning "alternative" forms of birth control such as a diaphram but she made it seem like it was terribly inconvenient and not an option and that we should take the pills provided. if we had a good way to teach girls ALL their options and why each one is different and then help them decide what they want and why, then maybe we may not be seeing so many teen pregnancies. |

can i say it again?
IUD FTW Advantages
there is NO guess work involved, no more "oh shit i forgot to take a pill, i hope i'm not pregnant" and no osteoperosis! |

It looked like it was from the 70's, making me cringe at the idea of 30 years of awkward kids like me fumbling to put condoms on this huge ass wooden penis. |

No method is 100%. Even vasectomies and tube-tying aren't. it's all just a matter of risk and reducing said risk. But nothing is ever guaranteed. |
