one of the worst movies I've seen, and not in that awesome Steven Segal sense where you can laugh at the badness yet still enjoy it. Most of the audience was laughing at the stupidity of this movie, even though it wasn't made to be intentionally bad. You don't even get the benefits of a normal b-movie like Godzilla where the action and suspense fills in for the acting and plot. The plot is stupid, the acting is horrible, you don't care about the characters so you don't care when they die, nothing actually happens in the last 45m of the movie, and the 'action' scenes they pepper the trailer with only fill about 90 seconds of screen time.

If you weren't bitter already, this movie will sour most viewers on the entire concept of going to a theatre at all. It's such a blatant cashgrab and disregard for the entertainment factor of the audience.

When Signs came out all my friends were raving about it. I said "Well, maybe I'll check out his next one then."

His next one was The Village.

Yeah, pretentious-ass filmmaker who wouldn't know a solid ending if it drew a Cleveland Steamer on his chest. Hyperbolizing on all the cheesy acting moments of Spielberg's career and playing his cards close to his chest until the last 5 minutes. It's cheap and works once, maybe twice. this is one of the better movies ive seen this year.fascinating concept,overly prophetic,masterfully shot. dissapointed in whalberg as a serious lead but the weight of M.kights work justified it and gave the teenage girls in the audience abit of a giggle. interesting sub characters and the scene with the old lady and the doll was well worth the price of admission alone. excellent sound track as well. visually jarring and disturbing imagry. underlying concept scientifically plausible but the movie dosent force a conclusion....hence the 'act of nature'.

gutsy movie esp. considering the massive distribution behind it.

enjoyable sub characters highlight gose to 'hotdog man' and 'crazy doll lady'

CAMPY acting,multiple apperances by the boom mic(wtf?), some serious lulls in pace(fault of actors)...

richard roeper enjoyed it very much,the packed house that i watched it with seemed to enjoy it also.

although the village wasnt really as bad as people say it was. it was semi suspenseful and you never really saw it coming when the retard stabbed buddy. it was a solid 3/5

so everyone thinks this movie is utter shat except revolver... do i trust the ratio? i think i will.

Yeah, I didn't even bother with Signs. My reasoning: I don't care how good my friends say it is, I've already wasted two movies too many on this fuck and I'm already wanting those four hours back, no need to add another two to the mix. I'll just rewatch Blues Brothers instead.
