When the digital switch occurs, the demand for better bandwidth could potentially drive telus out of the game.. both for cable and internet.
I'm sure they're working on a fix for it, but they're certainly running out of time. Esp. since Shaw offers up to 25mbit packages now and for $10 additionally to a highspeed package, you're capped at 10mbit.

Rogers has always offered cable. They've just got area-competition agreements with Shaw, so they don't operate in the same area.

i could get expressvu with all of the bells and whistles disgustingly cheap..but i'd run the risk of a contract, and who knows if i might move somewhere that prohibits the dishes (holy frick, we need to come up with something other than dishes because most places don't allow them)

buut I still love shaw, sure I don't watch all the channels i pay for regularly, but it's still good service, ok pricing and no contract pressure. not to mention i've had my account with them for 7 years and haven't really had any problems.

damn i miss the free channels though :P

i want to know why every time i order a movie on VOD, it comes in all fucked up. i can fix it by stopping the movie and starting again, but fuck time is money bitches...
also, why are the adult films mixed in with kiddie films in the 300's and also in the new release section of VOD...if i had kids i'd be pissed for "garfield" to be the option after "young teens get banged".

do christians not complain about this?

Shaw is a scam... I have a few concerns... While they hype up the HD PVR and milk you out of 6 bills you're left aweing and ooohing for just 20+ HD channels... that's not enough to fill my disgusting television viewing appetite. So while I enjoy the a meager 20+ HD channels I'm left in disappointment with the other 100 channels I'm paying for which are not in HD. I like shit like the DOC CHANNEL and BOLD CHANNEL but they look terribly like digital ass cause they're excluded from HD. The First 48 is on like 30 times a day...talk about filler. And Wiclef on HD net like once a week has left me feeling I should be listening to the fugees on cassette tape instead. Luke warm beans. IF I had the chance to get Bell express vu... I totaly would.

They have last-mile runs around downtown in newer buildings. they offer high speed internet and basic/digital HD cable. General concensus is they are nicer, faster, and cheaper than the alternatives, shaw/telus.

Eh, I see T1 fiber connections go down more often than cable connections. Mainly because most of the fiber around town is Telus. Remember that a fiber connection is only as good as the people administrating it. Right now you can get home fiber in the states, but because it's Verizon you actually get slower speeds than you would with Shaw X-Treem.

Yeah, the buliding i'm moving into next weeks has it. I checked out their website...really impressed with their prices and the fact that there's no contract or installation fees. I'll try out their cable and internet bundle.
