Cuba
-serious fishing, amazing culture/architecture/society as a whole, a ton of canadian partnered resorts Belize -amazing cayes, seafood is unreal ( I would assume there is fishing then), mainland ecology and a cool Caribe culture, manateeeeeeees If you go to Cuba though try to find a one week pachage that will let you push the return flight a week, then spend that second week exploring. Havana is unreal. |

word. Plus Tikal in Guatemala is an easy 4-5 hours from Belize City....and is some of the most spectacular Mayan ruins unearthed by man to date., imo.
Check it out man. Plus, a long days travel from Roatan/Utila, some of the best diving in C.A. |

I passed through belize last summer, its fantastic and like mojo said, tikal is only a couple hours away and those ruins are SPECTACULAR and pretty unique due to the fact there in such dense jungle.
belize is right smack in line of hurricane paths but perhaps by november you should be ok. if you want swim-up bars and all-in sort of things im tellin ya....PLAYA DEL CARMEN is pretty amazing. for the longest time all-in sort of travel was really not my thing but ever since ive been through playa, and as i..aherm 'mature' (lol). i can deff see the appeal. you mentioned wildelife,no warzones, and that you want to go fishing? based on what you want you should look into: Costa Rica - Home I cant go on enough how AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL Costa Rica is. its truly a paradise. a full-on haven for beaches,all-in resorts,eco-tourism and wildlife. you can choose eaither pacific/carib. side to avoid hurricane issues and the sea fishing on the pacific side is spectacular, prolly the best in all of central america. when i was there it was exploding with investment and Infrastructure development. It also lacks any military at all and there are ZERO political problems little social strife. the countries national slogan?....PURA VIDA! gah! my travel/adventure legs are getting pumped up!!! |

I'd say in November hurricanes aren't really an issue as they tend to rip through during the summer months, especially August. From my understanding Costa Rica is not nearly the cheap secluded get away it used to be. It's been over run by American tourists looking for that special something. |

The Atlantic hurricane season is officially from 1 June to 30 November. There is nothing magical in these dates, and hurricanes have occurred outside of these six months, but these dates were selected to encompass over 97% of tropical activity. June 1st has been the traditional start of the Atlantic hurricane season for decades. However, the end date has been slowly shifted outward, from October 31st to November 15th until its current date of November 30th.
In my experience, Sept/Oct are where you have to cautious w hurricanes. If it was me planning a trip somewhere that far, which little options if you had to be evacuated...i'd go another time of the year. Hurricanes suck. Ruined vacations suck even more. |
