^^ I will deff try doing that when I get home.
There are two other computers running fine in the house off the same router, and they are fine. I am not using the wireless though. I have a 30 foot cord running through the house lol. It's faster to download movies that way. :) |

I imagine your laptop is like your car. You gotta start it up every now and then to get the juices going. |

^^hahaha thats what I figured too.
I've tired everything. I am on the main host computer in the house and the internet is fine here. Apartely the other computer and my laptop wont connect even though it says its connected. I've unplugged everything 3 times now. Still not working. My laptop now is saying it has something to do with the DNS and the IP Address being used already. Any ideas? |

Discharge your battery fully and remove it from the laptop, seal it inside a zip-lock back (the larger freezer bag size should work) and then store the battery and the laptop (ideally) in a large rubber-maid container. The most important thing to prevent moisture from getting at the laptop, after that try not to store it somewhere where it will be exposed to very cold or very hot temperatures.

nope.. just watch out for excessively hot places, but store in a dry place. you could leave the battery pack out too.. just in case. |

Just decreased the number of factors that can get involved in damaging your computer while in storage:
- if the battery starts leaking for whatever reason (changes in temperature, casing broken, whatever) - keeping the battery in the computer will probably drain it further since it'll run small benign circuits while in storage - contacts can start getting salty/crusty buildup if they're in there too long. It's just a matter of minimizing risk is all. It'd just be a generally smarter/safer thing to leave them separate. |
