Skiers and Boarders
Whistler 55cm base with rain in the forecast (opened today)
Cypress 9cm base with rain, Grouse and Seymore are even worse I know its still early but fuck i was in deep pow on a damn good base this time last year. Whats up ullr? Anyone else worried?

Nah, 06-07 was good on the open but all through december weren't the slopes all closed? Wasn't until that insane downpour in Jan 07 that it started up again... granted, that downpour probably saved the season, but we always get a late season every other year.

I'm just gonna say, you may think that the last bad year was 04-05, because it seems to go through a 4-year cycle almost.
- crappy year - ok year - kinda crappy year - really awesome year rinse, repeat. Anybody remember 00-01? They opened the slopes early, only to close it down in November until like late Feb. I had a bunch of friends at the time working for Seymour that got laid off that year.

I just got a new board a couple of weeks ago, so, I'm willing to (further) trash my old board, but, even though I've got the Yank long weekend (t/g) off, 1/2 meter w/ only 1/4 mountain available just doesn't make it worth my while to use up one of my lifts on me edge card.
I'm off 11/12/08, so, maybe a run, then. But, only if there's good base and a new dump. Otherwise, I'll wait till the new year, as usual. Frosty (wants to hit Cypress for the 1st time in 4 years)

last year was el-niina dude, so it was lower temperatures = more snow...
plus if im not crazy ive been noticing that our seasons are starting to change a little bit around here... like snow last year in freaking april?? in the city?? and summer lasted almost all the way into september this year... so i dunno... im still optimistic, going to be a late season, but im expecting good snow

In my opinion they could of used the money (60mill) for better things. To bad ski resorts have different interests than the minority of skiers that enjoy themselfs and aren't contributing as much as some guys wallet from New-York I will box one though!
