Big Lists (facebook, msn, etc)

how big is your facebook? 200? 300? 400? 500? +!?

what does it mean if you have 500 people but you only regularily talk to 100 willingly in a month? Those could be the type of person who think "i have friends and i have acquiantances".

Where some people find themselves adding random strangers because of common interests, and other people restrict their profiles because it's a hassle to interact with the outside world.

I guess it's all a matter of perspective.

I have a 140 person fbook friends list. I have trouble finding anyone else with a smaller list.

I guess I keep my "friends" list fairly tight? Not everyone on there is someone I hang out with regularly, but almost all are at least people who I did see often at some point in my life, and I'm still somewhat interested in what happens in their lives.

I tend to keep all my "lists" pretty organized, don't use FB though.

I've got about 1000 on FB.

In my industry it's more of a marketing tool than keeping in touch with "friends".

roughly 200+ for facebook. when i first got it i'd add everyone I know but I don't do that anymore... just can't be bothered with doing the "hi how've you been what are you doing these days" dance with every single person i've ever met at a party, worked with or went to school with.

Doom had around 150 while for a while but pared it down to 92, he could probably get it into the 60's. For MSN, Doom went from 200+ to 42.

Honestly, I only really want to talk to/hear about a very small handful of people and am more likely to pick up the phone to do so. But Facebook is just so handy for things like birthdays, events, and completely creeping on other people's photos.
