One year, we got water-side tables nearly in front of the barge. My buddy was the manager, and the deal was that we got there before 3pm, and had to stay there.
So, there we sat, boozing all day.

During the fireworks, I thought to myself how amazingly synchronized the fireworks were.
I was completely dazzled by them.

...Till I rubbed one of my eyes and half the fireworks disappeared.

The moral?

Booze-induced double-vision = brilliant fireworks displays
