people who talk shit about their own friends
Can someone shed light on this for me?
Not trying to be sexist, but I always found this was a majority female thing. I used to live with my cousin and her routine was to hang out with one particular friend for an hour, and then talk shit about for another three when she was outta the room and with other ppl. apparently they all did this to eachother. my own backstory: i have a group of mostly male friends that do this too, which i found strange but brushed off. one of them recently pissed me off and i just walked away, not caring how awkward i made the situation and found it pretty easy to burn my bridges. my other friends were shocked. the question is why? why do people make their lives complicated by hanging out with toxic ppl? |

still, it sells records....
and maybe manson can seperate himself, but he understands that it's an image he's selling and that each and every public appearance is about selling that image.....and we only see him in public appearances, assuming you're not his bff. |

i guess you guys have a point.... it just seems like he's becoming more of a self-parody rather than being genuine which is cool if he's in on the joke, but it doesn't seem like he is?? He's beginning to venture into territory of crazy old fat dudes who wear clown make up.
haha and honestly who's even listened to marilyn manson since mechanical animals? |

He was his own parody from day 1, imo. That seemed to be the whole point of his image/persona. So many of the Manson fans I remember from high school were quick to point out he had a degree in journalism and really just did the whole shtick because it helped him sell albums.
Also, you should check out The Golden Age Of Grotesque. Wouldn't say it's his best work but some of those tracks are among my favourites of his (particularly "This Is The New Shit" and "Vodevil") |

ya i guess its debatable how much of it he just puts on for show since only his closest circle would have any real insight into that, so I won't argue that anymore.
but i think for the sake of his fans it would be cool to see the real side of him instead of the character if it is the case that he still maintains a seperate personality from the fuck-the-establishment bla bla bla persona. Like sure that kind of thing was the coolest shit to hear when I was 13 and when marilyn manson was huge, but I can only hope that most his fans have matured past that stage in their life- and by the same token you'd hope that marilyn manson would evolve past that whole thing to remain relevant to his core audience which consists of 20-30 somethings. I'll take your word on the new LP and give it a listen, maybe he's still got it? I haven't really heard much about the guy besides the hype surrounding his movie Phantasmagoria. |

Even more funny, because that song is all about losing the spark that you start with, and how everybody can't enjoy a recycled persona the next time around.
Everything's been said before Nothing left to say anymore When it's all the same You can ask for it by name ARE YOU MOTHERFUCKING READY FOR THE NEW SHIT STAND UP AND BITCH ABOUT NEVER COMIN' THIS IS THE NEW SHIT STAND UP AND BITCH!
