I think it's whack what he did because he supports MADD and all the other associations against Drunk Driving. I don't think he should step down though; I mean Clinton got to carry on for a bit after he cheated on his wife.
I just think he should get a big fat slap in the face cuz WTF was he doing driving drunk when he's of that status and he has his own personal drivers and private jets n' shit. Stupid!! :284: |

I don't think he really has to step, don't get me wrong it is fucked up that the head of our province got arrested but hes only human man and everyone drinks..... its not like just cuz hes the premier hes not allowed to drink..... the idiot shoulda just cabbed it or somethin thats all. I guess thats how us Canadians are.... Alberta's premeir Ralph Klein does his job still and he is an admitted alchoholic.

He does have the responsibility to set a decent example for the people he leads. Putting people's lives at risk is obviously not doing so. After three home made martinis and several glasses of wine, it would be pretty hard not to feel a certain degree of intoxication. Making excuses like 'it was only a short drive home' or 'i drank water and club soda for an hour before I left' just doesn't cut it. I don't that he should resign, but I think he ought to do more to own up to his actions. |

anyway, i think this is pretty bad, drinking and driving is just rediculus but i can see how it happened, sometimes everybody drives drunk and he was only a few kilometres from his hotel when he left. Either way he excersized some really poor judgement, but he shouldn't loose his job becasue of it. atleast his criminal charges didn't stem from something that he was doing from his office, like the last 4 or so premiers we've had except for ujal. B.C always has premiers that get caught doing something wrong while in office it seems. you think gordo's bad you should hear about the stuff that ralph klien does. |

^Yeah....Ralph Klein has big time drinking issues, but he admitted he has a big problem and is attending AA. It's probably easier for most Albertans to forgive the guy because he's done a lot of really good things for his province and more people are actually able to reap in the benefits than the current situation here is.
But yeah, it's hard to be so forgiving to poor Gordon because he really really pushed for Glen Clark to resign, quite mercilessly, after the whole casino liscensing scandal. He's also been known to really push for the resignation of any cabinet ministers who are involved in any kind of scandal, no matter how small......as stated previously, I don't really have a stance on wether or not he should resign yet, but I happen to care a lot more about drunk driving and putting other people's lives at risk than some casino lisensing business that was eventually ruled in Clark's favor in court. (although I like Ujal much better than I do him...) |

4:20, you went/go to Churchill? Weird. I remember when her office got fire-bombed last year, 'twas funny, but I hated her because she's such a bitch, rather than her political affiliations.
I don't think he should be forced to resign because of this, although it was a painfully stupid thing to do. He should just be made to squirm as much as possible, and that press conference was a great start! |
