no no its all good now i put that sticker back on my car and all the bad shit stopped happening
nothing bad went on for the last 2 days w00t! sammy, i agreee that i deserve that ticket. Thats no reason to try to weasle my way out of it. Is going 95 in a 60 really THAT wrong? everyone speeds comin off the pattulo bridge heading into surrey (other direction has a really sharp turn) this is like...like punishing a kid for playing on the road. Sure he MIGHT have gotten hit by a car, but he didn't Last edited by specialkonrd; Jan 17, 03 at 06:40 PM. |

even though your name is mispelled, just bring the ticket and your ID to court.... like waimea said u wait in front of a judge for the cop to show up, if he does show up you both have your chance to say your side of the story... the he/she will make your decision.....sometimes even if you lose they mite lower the price a little. just make sure you make good points, have something on paper.

^^^Agreed. I've been to traffic court for some unpaid parking tix, and got to watch a few other cases. The cops always have stuff written down, so if you show up looking prepared, with some facts in your case, it will usually earn you some points and look better than you just stumbling for information. Be sure that anything you use is a FACT, and not made up, but use anything factual to make your case. For example, if you were in the fast lane and moving with the flow of traffic (i.e. there were cars behind and in front of you that were going at approximately the same speed), that may be a mitigating factor, as you could say that you felt that to reduce speed would be more harmful. Also if you were trying to reduce speed by going into a slower lane but were being blocked or cut off.

i got a speeding ticket for 130 in a 90 on the upperlevels highway at 3am sometime last week.
i was sort of expecting it, but didn't care as i was working off some steam. so i knew i was guilty and wasn't likely to give the cop any lip... in fact, i started bullshitting with him about how amazing it was that my car could go that fast in the first place. he checked my record, which was spotless, and gave me the $173 fine instead of the $350-ish one. then, later, as i'm reading up on how to pay the fine, i notice that while my signature was there, the officer's was not. i'm not too sure what this means, but common sense would dictate that it'd mean i'd get off. and if so, how the hell could he have not signed it? that'd be like arresting someone and not reading them the miranda rights. so either the cop was grossly incompetant, or he liked me and decided to give me a break. considering the playful conversation i had with him, i think it'd probably be the latter. in which case, this reinforces my belief that cops will only treat you like shit if you treat them like shit. |
