Good thing I don't own a car... other than that I think gas should be raised till less people can afford to drive. There's way to many people on the road and unless it's made to expensive people will never take the bus. Unless people use transit it will never get better...

$63 for a bus pass!

Have fun on your public limo. Only time i take bus/skytrain is to work, and thats cuz i have to go downtown and i dont wanna pay 10$ for parking a day.

The best part about it is something I heard on cknw this morning. The liberals are so smart, and so good with their timing. All across the province of BC in every newspaper there has been a cover story about how people are pissed off about high gas prices. So, the best thing for the liberals to do would to obviously stick our drunk driving friend Gordon Campbell on tv for half an hour to tell us that they're increasing the price even more!

I don't think driving should be a priveledge for the 'super-rich'. i work two jobs, and while one I could take transit but choose not to, the second one would not feasable on transit. There are also lots of people who rely on their cars as a part of their employment, not to mention families for whom a car is virtually (although not absolutely) a necessity. Trying to herd one (or more) young children on transit while carrying the week's groceries or other needs can be a daunting.

I always have a good time on the bus. When i'm in a car however i swear at people ahead of me, behind me, to the side of me, all those bastards on the road make me wish it was legal to kill them.

I hate all these taxes they're throwing at us. GST, PST, Cigarette Tax, this new gas tax, and all the other ones that they put on our paycheque. Soon we'll be paying for the bloody air that we breath and the sun that we use to warm ourselves.

Back in the day people wouldn't stand for this shit. There would have been rioting on the streets and governments would be overthrown (with or without the masons!) now we just sit back, take it up the money tree ass, grumble a little, and don't do a fucking thing...other than give them the money.

Well I think from a political perspective they can hang this on Gordo who is esentially a lame duck premiere and likely to be replaced before the next election. Then they get some other liar to stand up there, smile and say "I'm not going to fuck you... really."

Give a new gov't complete power and this is the kind of things that can happen.

You could attempt to influence the votes of those around you (parents, etc.) and/or attempt to ensure that they even vote in the first place. Just because you can't vote doesn't mean that you can't make your voice heard.

Don't take this as an attack or anything...I'm mostly just bored @ werk and need something to pass the time, and it seemed like a valid point to make...

Yes, I'm old enough to understand. One of things I do is remind my parents to vote (theyll forget it's the day to go sometimes if i don't remind them :P) I don't think I could change their vote though?

Either way, once I turn 18 they are making me register to vote, so then I can do it myself. Heheh

and it's okay, didn't seem like an attack to me. =)

I put $20 worth of gas in2 my car a few days back. It only filled it up half way. Usually that much would basically fill my tank! That's even without this new tax! I can't imagine what it's gonna be like when this tax comes in2 effect. :(
