before it was 12 times the size of stanley park now i think it has reduced to 7 times....cuz of new commercial and industrial stuff built around the edges... on land that can actually be developed. it costs A LOT to get rid of that bog.. because of the complex procedures.. its been here on earth for 15,000 years...just let it stay...even as a historical nature bog or some crap like that!

^^ haha isn't it funny sometimes how much you did learn, even when you think you didn't? lol :P
I've done that a few times too! haha.. The bog does look really nice though, love the picture. I've never been there.. Was supposed to go on a field trip there, but it was during the teacher strike so we never got to go.. |

Bev, you should join the Burns Bog Conservation Society.
They're always looking for help and volunteers. LOL THE TRACTOR I remember that... too fuckin funny. I also remember watching when the Bog was on fire.. that was scary. The flames were right at the highway (that goes THROUGH the Bog...) If you notice the dead trees around the Alex Fraser Bridge.. they're dead because the weight of the highway and the bridge caused those areas to flood.. bog, water, trees, FREEWAY = flooding :( |
