Burns bog!
i went yesterday with my school...and what a nice lil surprise. prior to the visit, i didn't know burns bog even exsisted and its located in delta... south delta by the landfill to be exact.

its such a neat place! the bog is about 7 times the size of stanley park (HUGEEEEEE) and its pretty much all peat, branches, dwarfed trees, water+dirt= LOTS of mud... we took a little hike into the heart of the bog and it was one of the nicest hike ive been on. definatly need to wear boots and water proof gear. the trip was pretty much trampling through deep mud and deeper mud and jumping on and over puddles. if you step in the wrong places you could easily sink in, in otherwards the buddy system is a musttttt. i fell in twice and my boot got sucked off, but its pretty easy to pull it out of the mud. its one of those trips where you will definately get dirty, but the mud is good for your skin...thats another positive. the lake is gorgeous, a few of us wanted to jump in for a swim, but we weren't allowed to... too bad. teheheh next time.

just a nice lil place if any outdoorsey ppl want to check out.. could be a fun lil messy date too.

my friend duct taped a pair of slippers to his feet and wore shorts..eventually the slippers came right off, but damn he was having a great time in the gooey mud.

I LOVE IT THERE!

I was supposed to, but when it came time for my class it was during the teacher's strike.. so we never got a chance to go =(

My friend fell in the mud though, hahhahaha she was covered in it! Funny stuff, I saw pictures :D

burns bog is also known as the lungs of vancouver.

i don't think i've ever been there. i want to check it out.

lungs of nature because if we didn't have it we would be raining a lot more and have higher chances of floods. after being in it after 3 days of pouring rain that damn bog holds A LOT of water! its a ginormous sponge...

seriously im down for another trip there.. i felt like i was in survivor just running through the bog. LOVED IT.

lol bog ravers.. there wont be much dancing goin on thats a definate...id stand at the side laughin at the ppl who get a stuck. teheheh

It's a big forest with trails that go deep into it.
I grew up biking through it actually cause i've lived around here for 18 years now.
